Very cool brother, I also had the opportunity to sign the topping off beam ( last piece) a few times when in the company of local 1 Ironworkers. Great memories of the past. Great people to have had the opportunity to work with.

Every topping off beam ceremony I’ve been a part of, the beam is immediately removed as soon as the guests go home.

These were put in no guests just the boys. Sheet metal workers L.U.73 are a big part of the rough in as are the other trades.

OK…so a really long time has passed since I started this thread. I finally cleaned up my workbench, but it was after almost a year and a half. Had a lot going on family and work related. The last two years kinda sucked. NGL.

The lower went together great. However, I had an out of spec issue with the upper receiver. The barrel was coming out the end of the handguard to one side…noticeably. Maybe I caused it with too much clamping force with the vise block? Regardless, Aero replaced both the receiver and the handguard. And during the RMA process I bought a Midwest Industries receiver rod. I recommend.

I will say the timing on the M5 Atlas barrel nut was a pain—more so than I’ve ever experienced with any handguard. I went through all the shims and had to order more. But I eventually figured it out.

Haven't taken her to the range yet, but I am really pleased so far with the result. Thank you all who helped me figure out my first AR308 build.

That's a good lookin' gun, man.  Well done.  Shoot it, and let's see where we're at.

I agree. That's a damn good lookin unit right there. I'm a sucker for the UBR stocks. No matter what they weigh. You can always turn those bitches around and use them like clubs if the rifle ever goes "Click" instead of "Bang".

Sort of like Geissele rails.
