It didn't do any good the first time, 1994 until it sunsetted on '04.  FBI reports on gun crimes proved, through the years, that it had zero impact on gun crimes, gun murders, gun convictions during crimes, etc.  The info is out there.

It's not about crime and never has been; those words are just camouflage. It's about politicians who are corrupt and screwing the country for their evil power grab trying to remove the peasants pitchforks so that they can't storm the castle. Todays pitchforks are MSRs and they know that and fear them. That's why the left has such nightmares about Jan 6 and call it an insurrection. They've been fearing that day for decades and caught a glimpse of it. The "insurrectionists" are being made an example of to scare anymore of that sort of behavior and thinking out of the rest of us. 

But it's multifaceted. The founding of the USA also gave the planet something other than exclusively  peasants and rulers and the rulers have never liked having anyone with enough income to actually do more than merely scrape together their next meal. The middle economic class needs to be destroyed. That'll come next. The liberty teeth of the peasants (in their eyes that's us) need to be taken from us so that there is no push back when the self styled ruling class makes their move. The carousel is going around and they have their finger out to grab the brass ring, except we're waking up. It's exactly what they have feared all along.

It's about power and the left will do anything, and I do mean anything to attain it. Throughout history it has always been the left that has mass murdered and destroyed. Of course they want us to believe it's us that do it but that's just another lie for the folks with mush for brains to believe. That's why they make the claim that the nazis were from the right. It's also why I capitalized "SOCIALISTS" in my post above when I mentioned them. They were from the left. Communism, socialism, totalitarians, they're all from the left. Schools don't teach what the lone right and left actually means. Left is an absence of freedom and to the right is 100% freedom. It's not the left and right aisle in Congress as some would have us believe though that delineation does also exist.

So what will the left do? Don't believe your lying eyes, those were peaceful demonstrations when the left was burning Seattle and other cities 2 years ago. They will absolutely destroy the USA and take their chances on reshuffling the deck in the hope that they will get more power. They'll abandon civilians in Afghanistan and then claim they had no choice or ignore the complaints about the move. Life? Totally meaningless to them. They worship the creation and not the Creator as brandon is now proving by forcing the price of heating and other fuels to rise. That has the potential, along with inflation, to run away and destroy us all in the effort to protect the planet from the man made global warming myth. Again, they desire power and will do anything to attain it. Get in their way and you won't even hear a "Whoops!" as they roll over us. They do not care. Oh, and they'll destroy their own adherents just as fast as they will us; it makes no difference to them. Lying? All the time and right to your face even when they know that you know the truth.

What goes on in their heads? One, they think that the folks who have tried what they want to try just weren't as smart as they are today. Of course that's incorrect. It's also satans main means of bringing about a fall.

What else goes on in their heads? I ran across a statistic re: mental illness; conservatives vs the left and It was something like 6x more loonies come from the left. I mentioned that on another forum and someone, a psychiatrist or psychologist, responded and stated that near as he could guesstimate of his clients approx' 90+% were leftists and further stated that the % held true across the country. That's what we're fighting. I think there are other things going on as well on a spiritual level.

Just on a practical level. NJ enacted a ban on "high capacity" mags. They could be taken out of state or turned in to the state police. Last I heard the number turned in to the cops was really easy to remember... zero.

NY enacted some sort of law against "assault rifles" or some such and they figure 5% got turned in. 

I figure if there was a ban nationwide the feds would get the middle finger salute, not by all, but by most. 

On top of that it would be tossed out by SCOTUS but even if it wasn't there is always the middle finger and Molon Labe. I suspect they'd find it unenforceable with lots of turn over of the enforcers, esp' when they and their families are living in the general population. That doesn't mean they won't try it just to make life miserable and give themselves pats on the back.
