Two more questions. When ordering a new gas tube does it come with the roll pin to attach it to the gas block or does the gas block come with this?

Sometimes, the gas block will have a gas tube roll pin with it - all my YHM Specter gas blocks come with roll pins.  Very seldom will a gas tube come with a roll pin.  I think the gas tubes I've ordered from BCM came with roll pins.  Some company included them, and I think it was them.  Believe me, gas tube roll pins are my damn downfall.  In some sick, twisted way, I'll bet I know more about them than anybody else on this site...  :o

Also are an AR-15 and .308 gas tubes one in the same?

Yes, and no.  On DPMS-based guns, yes.  On some (maybe all) Armalites, then no.

My BCM gas tubes did come with roll pins.  They still include them with gas tube purchases.  I tracked down old receipts to check, and I could have just gone to their website to verify - which is what I ended up doing anyway...  :o

I was referring to the SI carrier, the front portion is angled off in such a manner as to override the bolt stop on it's way into battery.

You can take some off the stop portion one the bolt catch itself , so it will sit higher with mag follower tension . I'm going to assume you are using a 308 bolt catch.

You cam PM me if you want & I think I did a post on it here because I had the same problem with my CMMG lower.

I always order extra gas tubes & pins , so I have extras around . I also have a bunch of those repair kits with lots of detent springs , so I don't have to lot for one right away , I have been pretty good lately with out them going into orbit .

There it was only half jacked .

Do you think they made a special design to work specifically with their own bolt catch? I have their S/S bolt catch, and I wonder if that will make a difference??? I'll check that out as soon as I get my parts back.

That could be possible, it would be interesting to know the differences between their bolt catch and an ordinary bolt catch...
