98Z5V
The use of small-unit drones has been readily apparent in the Ukrain-Russia Fiasco. They're VERY effective. Great post, Rene.
KSdefender
I agree that the US appears to be way behind the curve on small drone usage. I hope I'm wrong. I recently bought Don Shift's book "Poor Man's Air Force" which is an excellent look at small drone capabilities...and defense tactics. Definitely worth having on the shelf. I keep fighting the urge to get one of the smaller units that won't require FCC registration. I live in a fairly dense residential area, so I'd probably end up using it like a periscope that can go to 300+ feet. 🙂
Sisco
There are any number of research projects going on right now to equip US military forces with drones. And a ton of papers presented to military journals on their impact in the Ukraine war as well as their role in a potential war with China. Think the author is making up the story for news selling sensationalism.
