It has been pretty quiet here lately. I'm going to have to come up with some kind of project to document here, it's been a while since I threw a gun component into/under a spindle, guess I'm overdue to remedy that.

 

Meanwhile, aren't there some suppressor pics you should've posted by now?

Something I've found out - seems if you have/had a TS Clearance, it takes even LONGER to get your packet through.   Doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever...

Never having had one, I'm completely out of my element here. It's a simple database inquiry in terms of nuts and bolts, but I have to imagine it's something that getting put at the back of a long line of inquiries related to active duty clearances. Bureaucrat stuff? I dunno brother, it's the government, the possibilities for disfunction are endless.

One would imagine, when they run your SSN and that information pops up - they'd look at that and say, "Well, damn - we don't need to research ANYTHING during those listed dates...   "

I guess that's not in their Training Manual...

You would think that. But then, you would be thinking logically. And that word rarely goes along with our government.

I've waited anywhere between 6 months and a year on the ATF in the past. Not that I had the military background. But just as a civvy, I thought it was ridiculous then. But, whatcha gonna do right?

Hopefully, with Kash Patel acting as the temporary director of the ATF on top of being the FBI director, he'll start dismantling some of the nonsensical bull$hit within the ATF.

I come here every morning unless i am sick or out of town which is almost never ,I stirred the pot last year about ELR and thought we had it going but no one talks about it WTF am I the only one who really fell down that rabbit hole? I will talk about anything music, movies , flint knapping Fuking Grizzly bears anything  . I know there are some builds going on let's hear about them!!!!!!! I am maybe a week from pulling the trigger on my Ivey Presicion mount for ELR and I am fuking excited!

I feel your pain - and no, you are not alone on ELR.  I can't go into extensive detail, about this, and my opinions only, from my view, and I'll call you about it this weekend.

I'll give my VERY BLUNT opinion right here out in PUB-LIK though.  Motherfuqrs need to stop looking at their cellphones, and start checking back into the fuqin board...  Got something to say about your snowfall, or your weather, or your day?  Put it up here.  Don't do it in a fuqn group text.

The key players - you know who you are...   Post the fukc up more often, instead of a lazy group text.  Make the extra step of clicking into the board first - then, just say wtf ever you want!

Yeah, I haven't posted a whole lot myself, mainly cause I haven't been doing any major type of builds lately. After the last MK12 build, I'm mainly down to waiting to upgrade glass on some rifles. And that's where my glass snobbery comes down to me moving at glacier-type speeds. The cost of some of the optics, as we all know, can kick you right in the nad section of your wallet.

Just as an example. I need new glass for the following:

MRAD - Possibly looking at a Steiner T6 series / Nightforce NXS or NX8 series

AR31 - Probably looking at the same options

AR10 Carbine (one of them) - Need to trade up from the old ACOG. Haven't truly decided on a new make yet.

DSA OSW - Don't like the Sig glass currently riding on this thing.

POF P308 - Being another short barrel, bare minimum is another EOTech setup like on the MK18.

 

So that's just 5 off the top of my head. And being that I understand that it's a high quality problem to be having. It's also a pricey one to resolve. And over the past year, I've been trying to pay off other major stuff on the house. That waterproofing on my basement alone was just about 40 K. So a lot of other things have taken a back seat. But, that being said, I've knocked about half off of that bill already, so maybe by mid-year I'll be able to start reallocating funding back into the glass acquisition division of R2 Enterprises. Besides getting back into building other rifles. After all, I've still got a Black Rain 10 matched receiver set to get around to building, and another couple small frame receiver sets to work on.

That glass is a bitch isn’t it, got at least 4 items to finish with top dressing’s, could go the cheap route on 2 red dots, but can’t bring myself to do it and waste money.
