Very nice Hollywood!  How do you like the rear monopod?

You see those JP brakes a lot in 3-gun competitions.

This past weekend I aided a friend into a purchase of a new LAR-8 VARMINT. Now he has to wait. The store in Texas ordered it in April this year, so hopefully not to long a wait. Gun show this weekend to help aid in his selection of add on's. I love spending other people money 8). There rodents seem to be many of us RRA people there.

            The heavy buffer made a big difference. I was having an issue with it double feeding do to the recoil knocking loose another round. It stopped that and my felt recoil went way down. I would say it cut it in half.  Hope that helps.

I was contemplating taking my buffer apart and getting some of the tungsten powder and trying it out. Read about that in a thread here.

          I usually just remove the buffer and spring after every shoot and clean it out real good with an old 12g bore cleaner. Then use some light CLP in the tube. That is how I learned to do it in the military.

I would be trying to make it heavier like the "heavy buffers". Reducing recoil.

          Sorry it took me so long to reply but I had to find my old buffer to show the the difference. As you can see Slash's is better constructed and about twice the size and weight. Also it has an anti tilt ring. I would highly suggest it.

I am going to try using original and adding heavy tungsten powder I got off ebay. Will keep you posted on how ot turns out.

        I wish you the best of luck. My heavy buffer is a little over 9.5 ounces compaired to the 5.3 ounce stock one. It seems to work great.

I have a lb coming. Will see how much fits. Empty buffer weighs 1.25 oz, full of weights and spacers 4.625. Shooting for 7.75-8.0 oz of added weight.

Just got my 308 back and very happy, had it at the range the other day she shoots like a dream, and the suppressor works a treat,
