OFP2651 Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) So my first LAR-8 was the 20" Classic A2 which I loved. Felt perfect with the DPMS Ergo Tactical grip and the Magpul PRS buttstock with an Extension tube on it. Shot straight and true from the box, the first shot out of it was actually a kill shot on a Monster can. Alas, I am just starting the married life and my wife is slightly anti-gun so I am only allowed one rifle and one shotgun at the moment. I plan on building my armory up further when we get a little bit more stable living style established. Now I run with my LAR-8 20" Standard Operator, but I did get to keep the furniture from the first rifle with it. I am sorry about the picture, I need to take it outside and get some nice pictures of it, but you get to see my nasty apartment, so my apologies. So the stats on the new hotness are as follows: RRA LAR-8 20" Standard Operator Smith Vortex Flash Hider DPMS Ergo Tactical grip Magpul PRS buttstock w/ extension spacer Charging Handle Latch Extension (brand escapes me at the moment) UTG Bipod UTG High Scope Rings Nightforce NXS 12-42X56mm w/ MLR Reticule optics What I would like to add: Heavy Buffer Tube and Spring (any ideas on brand and where to find it?) Smith Wind Talker Suppressor system Fluted Match Grade Barrel (going to talk to GA Precision LLC about this, anybody dealt with them before?) and a sling, but I can't figure out how to attach my web sling to the PRS buttstock in a way that really works, anybody have any ideas? Edited May 10, 2013 by OFP2651
unforgiven Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 For sling there is the coated wire loop around extension tube,or A2 adaptor around butstock.
Robocop1051 Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 @OFP2651, Slash heavy buffer and a AR-10 spring will do perfectly. If the existing sling mount on the PRS doesn't work for you. How about utilizing that bottom rail? Take a look at the GearSector QD sling mount. Then put a QD swivel on your sling, and you're good to go. It'd be different than everyone else.

fisherob Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I finally got mine finished. LAR-8 Varmint 26" Barrel, Harris BiPod, Burris MTAC 6.5X20 50mm, and Burris P.E.P.R mount. Now to get her to the range. What do you guys think?
LR308 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 <--- Can envy :'( http://www.aseutra.fi/jet-z-cqb-bl-and-jet-z-cqbs-bl-suppressor in 7,62 mm.
fisherob Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 http://www.aseutra.fi/jet-z-cqb-bl-and-jet-z-cqbs-bl-suppressor in 7,62 mm. I love the Suppressor you have. I was thinking about doing the same thing over the winter months but kind of shy because of all the hoops you have to jump through to get one. Do you really notice a difference in sound?

Have you ever heard a .308 that sounds like a .22? http://youtu.be/nkRb9NvMWNA?t=40
Rsquared Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Have you ever heard a .308 that sounds like a .22? http://youtu.be/nkRb9NvMWNA?t=40 And that's exactly how they sound. Gotta love it....................
blue109 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Are those rifle stocks A1 or A2 length? I like the look of them. And damn you Matt...I had talked myself out of a can after hearing a few that were not impressively quite, but that was cool. Edited August 18, 2013 by blue109
