planeflyer21 Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 I have a relative moving to Hawaii, who is asking about getting their guns to Hawaii. Can they just ship them with all their other crap?Told them I don't think so, as Hawaii has mong registrations and permits.Jon
NoFail Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 My buddy moved to Hawaii years ago. He gave me his Sig P226 since he couldn't have it there. That's what he said anyway, I dunno about the gun restrictions there but I'm sure it's even worse than here in Kalifornistan.
98Z5V Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 JON!!! I clicked this topic in FEAR! I was thinking that you were moving... :oYou scared the hell outta me... :cookoo: <laughs>
SDDuc996 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Hawaii's a beautiful place to visit. My bro-in-law was stationed there for almost 8 years. The water, the diving, the surfing and the sushi make it a great place. To visit. There's no way in hell I'd live there as much as I enjoy my guns.No CCW/CHL and limited to magazines of 10rds. No thank you.http://www.hawaiirifleassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=42&Itemid=47
planeflyer21 Posted August 27, 2012 Author Report Posted August 27, 2012 I'm going to need a LOT of time off before I even visit there...I won't fly airlines anymore, so that puts me on a boat. All they have are revolvers for handguns, an SKS for a rifle. A Russian one.All in all, WAY too much hassle for me.Jon
Dusty44 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 I recall stories about residence in Hawaii. An uncle who moved to Hawaii for a couple of years late in life. About 2 or 3 years was all he could take of paradise. Same kind of things I heard from Air Force guys I was stationed with when I was young.Hawaii is very pretty. Hawaii is very expensive. Hawaii shrinks steadily. It really does not take long to get very unhappy with.
SDDuc996 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Island fever. My parents are actually going to live there for a year and see if they get tired of it in that time. Being retired Army allows them access to the PX and commisary so that helps. Looks like I'll have to take custody of his guns while he's gone...
unforgiven Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Ariza needs you brother Jon,you can't make sand cookies in paradise. <lmao> <laughs>
planeflyer21 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Report Posted August 28, 2012 But I CAN make cookies in the sand!I've had a couple of friends that went to live in paradise and they said the same thing...after 10 months it was like "yippee...woo-hoo. This sucks."Jon
