xzaq103 Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 Hey guys, I'm new to AR scene and want to build my own. Any help pointing me in the right direction on how to start out is greatly appreciated! ThanksChris
edgecrusher Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 Welcome Chris, we sure can help! <thumbsup> Lets start out with a budget and a run down on your end uses and goals. Since you are new to ar rifles, we will start there and build around that.

edgecrusher Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 That's a good price point. Does it include optics? Also, would still like to know end goals and usage... I.e. is it a precision rig, battle rifle.... distance your looking to shoot, ect. <munch>

Something to shoot for pleasure with some friends and do a little hunting. I've always hunted with a .30-30 but looking at some land that I will have to be making some longer shots on. Also tired of hearing my dad talk up his 7mm haha. Around here about the longest shot your going to be able to make is 500-600 or so yards. I also have access to a .300 Weatherby if I need to go further. As for optics if I can swing it I will. But they are not necessary for now. If need be I can get them later next year before the season opens. Chris
Rsquared Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Sounds like you have the right idea there. Build the type of rig that you want, and what you want it for. You're estimated budget range sounds pretty good.
