imschur Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 for the first day since since December 21. :'( See you guys on the company dime tomorrow ;)
Madhouse Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 And man, did it suck to go back! Sure felt like a Monday!
imschur Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Posted January 3, 2013 So the day before we took off for the holidays I says to my guy "Carlos do we have enough oil to get through vacation" to which he replies "Yes plenty"Needless to say i walked in around 8:30 am and was greeted by 35 hostile co-workers. Coldest day of the winter so far and we have no heat because we ran out of oil. Cant get it delivered until sometime tomorrow.
unforgiven Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 You guy's still using whale's for heating oil? <lmao> <laughs>
planeflyer21 Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 You guy's still using whale's for heating oil? <lmao> <laughs> <laughs>Jon
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Yeah, I feel for you. I worked in a shop where all we had was an oil burner. Those things put out some heat. But, when you run out of oil, it BLOWS. And there ain't nothing you can do (wrenching on it that is.....nothing to fix) until you can get the fuel truck to stop by. I remember some of us guys holding our hands around light bulbs just to heat our hands up, so that we could work on poop. I feel for you brother. That makes for a long F-ing day.Now.....on the other hand.....that was a great zinger Rene. <laughs>
98Z5V Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Now.....on the other hand.....that was a great zinger Rene. <laughs>Rene just has a knack for that poop - he's a natural, and quite gifted. <thumbsup> <laughs> 8)
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Yeah........kinda noticed that.Keep gettin Rene <thumbsup>
unforgiven Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 That's brother Tom rubben off on me >:D, I'm tryin like hell to keep up with you guy's. <lmao> <laughs> :cookoo:
edgecrusher Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Drew, you can use diesel fuel in a pinch
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 <laughs> Been there....done that.OK.......everybody grab a jerry can and head to the gas station. <laughs>
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Wasn't at the time. But I can look back and laugh now. The poop you gotta do you know?
edgecrusher Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 adapt and survive! I have a wood stove going right now because it's 12* out, anything to stay warm. OK, it is 74 in here!
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 12*? Well it's only a balmy 26* here in Md (DC metro area).
98Z5V Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 ...26* here in Md (DC metro area).I'm so damn glad I got the hell out of that area. If that place was on fire, I wouldn't piss on it to put it out. <dontknow>
edgecrusher Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Up here in mass, going to be this way all week. We didn't hit 26 today at all
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 I'm so damn glad I got the hell out of that area. If that place was on fire, I wouldn't piss on it to put it out. <dontknow>I'm with you my brother. Only here for the job. When that's done......I'm done......and gone!
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 No. Just regular commercial work. Automation and controls. You know......electronic computer poop that runs facilities.
98Z5V Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 That's a relief - you'd REALLY hate life if you were at Meade... :o
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Yeah. Got friends that have been in and outta there.
unforgiven Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 About the same here brother Ron.At least no snow to strain the shoulder.
Rsquared Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Don't mind the snow. Just the people (in this area) trying to drive in it. Luckily no accumulation this year yet.Tell em Tom.....you've been here.
98Z5V Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 I loved the snow there - I could get around just fine in it. I was in a 6,000 lb Dodge truck, on 35s, with a 185 lb front bumper... Fuckers got out of my way, one way or the other... <lmao> <laughs>One dude in a Lincoln tested me one time. He ended up buying a new car, and paying me some money...
