rail help

I need a 4 or 5 inch rail to mount in the 6 oclock position on my gator grip apex free float hand gaurd it has a slot for the rail but i can not find one that comes with the mounting hardware which would work on this handgaurd it would need to be the stud and a nut with wide sides to keep it from falling thru hand gaurd slots am I making sense?

I am using the Magpul MOE poly rails on my APEX DPMS/308 12.5" rail

  yes just the carbine version with cutout around A2 front sight..

How does that rail attach to the forarm? and your is in the 12.00 o clock straight up and 6.00 being straight down?

I have the APEX full length top rail installed at the 12 o'clock, the MOE Poly 3-slot installed at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, the MOE Poly 9-slot at the 6 o'clock and a sling swivel stud mounted at the 6 o'clock (for the Harris Bipod)

98 is right. The only problem is they are $$$$.

The MOE rails are lighter and cost $5-$10.

Robocop, did you run the nuts accross the slit in the hand gaurd or with it they are not curved so i was wondering got the rail today ...4 inch...

What I did was get a piece of sheetmetal with a u shape cut into it to hold the nut part.Cause the dab of locktite will cause it to spin before it screws in.Once it screws in I let it go as it was approaching the finale turn or so.This will spin up about 45* relative to the slot and as you contiue tightening the ends will conform to the radius of hanguard.Just crank tight you will see it take shape.

The backplates from JP rifles fit APEX hand guards like they were a custom marry.  I have a rifle length APEX and used the QD sling stud backer plate to attach my Harris bipod. Fit like a rite size glove.
