Dane Armory Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 He died of a self inflecked gun shot wound , per the Speed Network. I met him , is crew chief and Chocolate Myers at a Circle K in the late 80's we were all buying beer standing in line.
edgecrusher Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 I have been wondering about this. They are finding all the new info with concussions and contact sports, and let's face it, back in the day these guys hit the wall like men. I wouldn't have been surprised if under different circumstances if they did a brain study, that they would have found the same type of dark brain matter. I feel for Mr. Trickle. On another note, any of you older NASCAR fans, do you remember back in the day, when he was racing, that when Earnhart Sr. was about to down a lap, good ol' Dick would all of a sudden be crashing into turn 2?! Loved that!
shepp Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Story I heard was he was taking the loss of his wife very hard. Being from wi I've met the man numerous times. He's the oldest person to ever win rookie of the year at the age of 48 and was one of the people behind the iroc races. Very sad news
Matt.Cross Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 The graveyard that they found him in is about 5 minutes from my house. Sad news, RIP Mr. Trickle.
