texas30cal Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Well I couldn't manage to stay in Red River permanently :'( , but we did have excellent weather and good fishing. The cabin we stayed in was just over 9200 ft elevation, I was out of breath from just rolling over in bed, I never had that much of a problem at 8000 ft, found out that my 3 1/2 yr old gets altitude sickness just like I do, had to drive to Taos to get her meds, but I did get to eat lunch (over ate) at Michaels Kitchen, been eating there since the late 70's and it's always excellent  . Then had to drive the 900+ miles back to the surface of the sun here.
washguy Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Nothing ruins a mountain vacation like altitude sickness....just plain suks! When I got it in Durango...the folks there said us flatlanders should take Geritol before coming up....do they still make it?...lol :) Wash
DNP Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 I will be enjoying the heat this weekend. I have to visit the in laws in Kingman AZ for an outdoor wedding. Who the hell gets married outside...in AZ...in August?
