gunhand Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 After waiting nearly a year, I just picked up my Sig 716 in FDE. Freshly cleaned (Icould have solved the energy crisis with the oil it was covered in!) Going to the range tomorrow to break it in.
unforgiven Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Rifle looks good brother gunhand FDE is the new black.
gunhand Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I live in Las Vegas, so FDE is the best color for here!!
unforgiven Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 My bro's in Henderson.Hopin to make the move in about 4 yrs.
gunhand Posted December 16, 2013 Author Report Posted December 16, 2013 Yeah, I waited almost a year before a distributor friend of mine could get one. I'm SO glad I waited, took it to the range yesterday, and got it dialed in with the iron sights. Still podering what optic I will go with. It ran fine with no problems at all.
JGshooter Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 The FDE looks cool. I got the black one, but love the way it shoots..
Toolndie7 Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Nice looking rifle you got there, looks like it was worth the wait. Does that throw the brass forward like some other sig rifles?
gunhand Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 I only got to shoot 80 rounds through it before I left town for a three month job. I return next week, so I should have some more photos and a really good range report for you all. I haven't selected an optic for it yet. I am leaning towards an ACOG TA11C, or an Aimpoint PRO with a 3X magnifier.
gunhand Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 A little update...Today I installed a Geissele SSA/E trigger, WHAT a difference over stock!! I also picked a screaming deal on a Trijicon ACOG TA01B with the .308 reticle. Looks like I will taking a trip to the range this week!!
gunhand Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 I got to the range yesterday, except it was really windy, so I just got the scope zeroed to about a four inch group at 100 meters with S.A. surplus ammo. I'll have to wait until a more calm day, to break out the M118LR ammo, and really get it dialed in. Using the M118LR, I got my SCAR 17 to shoot a consistant sub 1 MOA group. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the 716 performs.
Greyghost01 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 You should get in the 1" moa fairly easy with your with good match ammo they really like the 175grn from what Ive been told. Im waiting for my DMR to be delivered at the factory the are getting 1/3 - 1/2 " moa out of it with 185 grn Lapua.
gunhand Posted May 7, 2014 Author Report Posted May 7, 2014 It's the standard length that comes on the 716 Patrol.
80Goat Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Love my 716 in FDE. I got it last summer. Walked into a LGS and saw it on the rack with an unbelievable price. Then got a $200 rebate from Sig. Was at the range yesterday and was shooting some good three shot groups at 100 yards. I do need to replace or fix the trigger - too much creep and grit.
sketch Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 Welcome! That 200$ is worth a good trigger upgrade for sure :)
80Goat Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 Either a trigger upgrade or some optics.
Doggunner23 Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 How do you like it? Any hiccups? If my dealer gives me a decent price I may pull the trigger on it. Are you running a can on it?
