Goofball310
Pics or it doesn't exist! Pictures are going to take a bit because the car is in Southern Cali and I'm in Texas. My dad is the original owner and it's been sitting for over 20 years in the garage. My mom tried to get it restored for my him 10 years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer and it sat a at shop for 3+ years. Finally one day the property owner called my parents and told them they had until the weekend to pick up the vehicle or it would be towed because the business had been evicted. So after 3+ years and over $10,000 wasted the car has been sitting in the garage. They only painted the lower half of the car Vitamin C orange and the rest is primered from the a-pillars on up on what was supposed to be a full restore. The car needs a lot of work: Rebuild the full drivetrain Rebuild the suspension Body is rust and dent free but will need a new paintjob Rechrome all the moldings, bumpers, hood pins, etc Powdercoat suspension, steering, rearend, etc Source a new driver or passenger seat (Had a torn seat and my dad replaced it with a seat from a 72 mopar) Complete reupholstery and need back speaker panel I'm going to try and keep the build under $20k but we all know how that goes. I just realized you were in Deming. My dad has a really good friend out there that I remember visiting as a child. I have fond memories of fish and driving a tractor on his farm. And, after all this time I finally figured out what your screen name says. I've been seeing it for over a year and it never clicked. There's also a 392 sitting in the garage but I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Edited January 11, 2014 by Goofball310
392heminut
I had a 392 in my 70 Cuda but when my son was driving it in high school he griped because it didn't have power steering (that 392 was too wide for the bigger P/S box). I pulled it out and ended up selling it to a buddy of mine who is building an early 30's Dodge sedan hotrod. I put a 5.7 hemi in the car and have no regrets, it handles much better with the 200 lb. lighter engine and has just as much (if not more) power than the 392! Goofball310
Thanks a lot 98! The more time goes by, the more I want to keep the rifles. It'll just slow up the restoration and I have nothing but time for that.
