AdamO
PIcked this little number up from a buddy of mine for $350 w/ 3 mags and 200rds. I really don't know a whole lot about AK's in general, this being my first one. Here's what I do know: It's a Romanian "Bargain-Basement" WASR - complete with the dreaded canted front sight. Not terrible, it can still be zeroe'd but you can tell it's off a little bit. I understand this can be fixed with a little effort and a BFH! It's had a trigger job done but it's not the Tapco G2, just taken down and a good polish - it's actually pretty decent. Furniture was cleaned up on it. Yes it has the mag wobble, but it fits a double stack and it's not terrible - it's an AK, whaddya want? It's not the 10/63, just has WASR-10 engraved so it's probably a little older but its a numbers matching gun so that's a plus. Target crown barrel - no threads, probably a post-ban gun? Like I said I'm not really an AK guy so I don't know a ton about them, but they've always been a curiosity for me so i figured, meh, what the hell, it'll be a cheap plinker until .22LR comes back around and it seemed like a fair price to me plus I'm helping a buddy out who needed a little extra cash. Sisco
I have an Arsenal AK with a milled reciever my son has adopted. IFirst time I fired it, at 25 meters I couldn't see a hole in the target, than I realized it was a perfect bullseye. Arsenals are all sighted for 25 meters at the factory. It will keep things in a softball sized circle at 100 yards, and for an AK that is fine. They are fun, and cheap. I respect and understand the negative feelings about them a lot of ex servicemen have since they were the weapon of the enemy. That said, Mikhail Kalishnakov put together a weapon that met the mission requirements of the Soviets and then some.

bigdaddy1957
I bought a cheap WASR AK from Gunbroker. $440, chrome lined barrel, the rust was thrown in for free...ha ha. I cleaned it up, added a few things to make it ergonomic for me since I have some medical issues. So I Magpuled it, I added the new Magpul grip, a mil-spec Vltor tube on a rifle dynamics adapter, MI rail, AFG. Next I need to add some type of scope/red dot because I can't see anymore, due to old age. The rifle dynamic adapter put the stock higher so the cheek weld is proper, no need for a riser. I tried a few different stocks and decided on the new OD Green MOE SL. I also added a Damage industries flash hider. A few mods inside too, a buffer which is just a piece of plastic and replaced the wire that holds the trigger together with a solid part from Krebs. When I first got it I took it to the range. Yes the magazine wobbles a little bit, not much. Yes the safety has a bit of over-travel in the on position. But it's an AK..........I thought I missed the target, nice neat little hole exactly were I aimed it. I thought it would shoot high but it was right there at 25 yards. It's pretty accurate, I have yet to try it past 50 yards but with good ammo it should shoot OK. It's a battle rifle, I don't expect much past 100 yards even with a scope. It's a fun gun, the ammo is cheap and with the right ammo you could use it for home defense. In all honesty I would not hesitate to go to war with it, I can see under harsh conditions it would work where other guns would fail. I just wish it had a fun switch. I was going to buy an AK pistol but the ACE pistol version should be coming out next year. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. I can't see spending a lot on an AK. It was designed to be inexpensive and work in the worst conditions of war and it does just that. If I want a precision rifle I would get one not an AK. Microgunner
Great find, congratulations. I've owned a Norinco AK for a couple decades and it's been an outstanding rifle, although I haven't actually touched it in about 5 years.
