I would test it for proper function before changing anything mechanical. If there are other problems, you may have more difficulty figuring it out if you have already made changes. And, as mrmack said, lube it very well.

The ATMs are all produced at the same time regardless of whether they end up indoors or drive up. It's more cost effective to have just one mold.

But if you buy the bolt and barrel from the same manufacturer at the same time, many of them will check it. Again, I would suggest confirming that instead of assuming.

If you get your BCG with the barrel, you should not have to worry about headspace. Ask to be sure before you order.

Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc... all make cars that perform the same basic function. They all have a similar list of parts and components but they are not necessarily interchangeable. 308s all use the same ammo just like many cars use gasoline. Some rifles prefer different brands or weights of ammo just like certain cars run better on different octane gas. When you get to different calibers of LFARs, it is like having a diesel, hybrid, alternative fuel or electric car. You have to know what fuel to put in it to make it go.

My wife and I were having this exact discussion last night. Almost all teachers and most civilians would be useless in this position of security. I would not hire myself for that job because I do not have the training or skills needed. I did think that ex-military or LEO who went into teaching would be a good place to start looking for potential people for this role. Then there should be an extensive training to undergo for future applicants who have the right temperament but lack the skills needed. This would obviously need to be a highly scrutinized position. Susan was completely against more guns in the school at all. In a perfect world, that might be a realistic solution. But we don't live in that world and the unfortunate need to protect children from evil is increasing.

Welcome to the forum. What will work for you depends on what buffer tube length you have. Just because it worked for him, does not mean that it will be the same for you even with a similar problem. Since there are different buffers and springs that can work together, I would suggest starting a new thread of your own to get answers to your questions.
