I watched or heard someone who proposed that the US could/should build many more battleships or cruisers for the same price as one carrier. They could be built to serve a smaller aircraft complement, including drones now. That way, there could be many more ships that could cover a larger area for the same cost as one USS Ford. It made sense to me but I'm not a military genious.

This person would still ask me if contacts would make them see 20/20.

Short of some made-for-TV catastrophe, I don't see any way to revert to smaller farms as the rule instead of the exception. 40 years ago, It was difficult to make a living farming. I would think the family farm would be near impossible to achieve these days. Plus, how many young people these days would want to work as hard as is necessary to make a farm run? I heard recently that the average age of farmers was around, or slightly over, 60 y/o.
