  3. Welcome from San Diego. There are so many ways to go. You can build a ground up rifle, or get one off the shelf and modify as you go along. I see you have a thread about that going and I’ll bet you get some decent feedback there. Either way, take the time to research and plan it out. Not all parts play well together and you’ll want to know up front that not all 308 AR’s are AR-10’s and there’s a few different platforms out there that don’t intermix. Head to the build section for some inspiration from what others on here have cobbled together.
  4. You bastard....

    Sick Doggie

We had a boxer that was throwing up over and over. We took her to the emergency vet because of course it was a weekend. They guessed blockage and gave us two options. Surgery for $2400 or $1200 to feed her something they could watch move through in a series of xrays over several hours. At which point if there was a blockage...$2400 for surgery. We gambled on the 1200 and there was no blockage. Never knew what it was. Spent a bunch of money...she got better on her own. That was probably 15 years ago. She was a great dog...hope we get another one like her someday.

Sorry to hear it. Hope your buddy is up and 100% again soon.
  9. $200. Let’s go!
  10. We’re no farther than most places in town. 40 minutes from downtown. They just see less houses and assume it’s too far. And yes, it’s complete BS that I can’t legally live in that trailer on my own land, yet I can live in it on public streets and shiit wherever I want to. As long as it’s not in my property...if I shiit there I need to pay the gov for the right to.
  11. Baja California? That’s an odd place for a Canuck.
  12. Welcome from San Diego.
  13. Sounds like the terrifying 1” of rain in California. Pure chaos here...meanwhile there are people in boats cruising up and down their street a few states east of us. Im glad AZ came out of their tornados without the need for disaster relief. I mean, that chair in the pool is gonna take a whole 5 minutes to dry out in that dry heat.
  14. We should change his avatar to a little old cat lady.
  15. Waking up a dinosaur. Just for fun. This section has a lot of dust on it.
  16. I think 98 is very much in support of your 300 decision. You’ve got the right plan...there’s room for more calibers down the road.
  17. I almost had that in the cart twice. The wife was eyeballing a set of pots and pans marked down to 800 from 1200. Told her to go ahead and was waiting for it to be done so I could justify it. She chickened out. Maybe next year.
  18. Brand new trailer...furnace quit after a month. Been difficult getting a mobile repairman to come up in the hills to fix it. Trailer is bigger than I care to drag around and the next time it moves off the property will be when we’re ready to sell it. Hopefully in the next couple months we get our permit to start building the house...by next winter this should be less of a problem.
  19. Heater guy comes on Monday. We’ll look forward to being able to stay warm this winter. Electric fireplace was doing all it could to keep the chill off the indoor temp - except while the power was out. Damn global warming...this ain’t how Turkey Day is supposed to be in San Diego.
  20. We had a lot of issues. Was hoping to smoke, but the weather thought otherwise. On to the trailer ovens. One in the new trailer, one in the old. First issue was a hole in the bottom of the turkey pan. Melted butter smoked like hell all afternoon. Power went out for a couple hours mid day and the cold was giving us problems with propane. Ran out on one trailer and the new bottle didn’t seem to want to get the job done. Finally came together by cramming as much as we could in one oven. Gotta have a plan C.

    The line up

We went outside to check. “All I see is Uranus, get out of the way!” My wife said. actually, it’s cloudy and rainy right now. Might see snow tomorrow. Can’t see squat.
  22. I thought I was losing it, or missed something from somewhere else. I couldn’t figure out why he was catching a bunch of crap. Thank you for the acknowledgment of it.
  23. I’m confused. While not entirely off topic, what question didn’t get answered? I saw what caliber and what does the scope cost. Then I saw the answer of .308 and $300-350. did I miss something somewhere?
