  1. I farted when taking a breath , can I do that ? <laughs>
  2. Name dropper . <thumbsup> I just can't bring myself to spend more on my mount than I did for my scope <lmao>
  3. Ordered some Maxima QR rings today , a set of 30mm & a 1" set ( for my 300BLK ), price was fair, as far as I can tell till I have them in my hands .
  4. What did you think of South America ? Wonder if the peoples attitude has changed since I was there in 71-72 . That's 1971-72
  5. What , he doesn't have one !
  6. Well I have to order 30mm rings for this beast , I could swear they said 1" tube . Doooooo! Nice wrapping , its in a cloth baggie. might be a micro fiber one ? Big scope , bigger than the Nikon that's on the 16" 308 Bad photo but you get the idea of the Balistic mil dot reticule Tac II adj. knobs, resettable zero
  7. I like the looks of it , but does it work ? Is the question .
  8. I have loaded many .223 brass for the 300BLK in my testing . You might get a smidgen ( from our King's vocabulary ) more powder in them depending on manufacturer , but not enough to get much more out of them . They work & form just as well as any mil spec brass. As far as powders , you should stick with whats been tested for the 30BLK cartridge . I have tested H110 , 2400, ( old Hercules ) Blue dot , WW 296 ( same as H110 ) I think Lil'gun & there are a few others I have not tried . I get the best results with all bullet weights using H110. There is plenty of reloading data in the 300BLK section for you reading .
  9. Was there something inside the receiver to keep it from being flexed or crushed ?
  10. In some ways I envy you people that live & breath in the desert areas of the US , just because of the ample shooting ranges you can have . other than that , you can keep the desert . I'm too old & lazy for that kind of competition any more , doesn't mean I can't do it , us old farts might surprise some of you, with our capabilities. <thumbsup>
  11. I also don't bother sorting any Handgun brass , but I weigh all my rifle brass & put them in weight categories . I also weigh with a live primer in them . My WW brass weighs in around 156-158 gr. & LC weighs in around 178-180 gr. , so those case volumes differences with the same powder loads will have much different velocities & that equates to chamber pressures also , which could cause problems if loading to near max powder charges , like case head separation & even a blown up action. If you want all you can get out of your reloads , sorting & other things can make your reloads out shoot any factory ammo out there . I prove it to customers all the time when I make there hunting ammo . Pitting there ammo, that they used for years out of there rifle & I usually cut the groups in half , consistently ! That is what reloading provides to the hand loader , if you can make ammo over & over , consistency is the key. Having Velocities all over the spectrum is not going to get you match quality reloads. Plinking or blasting ammo is much different , though I still sort , but may not hand weigh each round as I would my Target or hunting reloads .
  12. There is a lot of info in this reloading section , take some time & browse past posts .
  13. If you thought picking out a BCG was a hard one , the Hand guard will be more time consuming .
  14. You never mentioned about using a barrel vice , receiver block or an upper receiver clamp , the advice was for your advice , the way I see it . The correct device to properly clamp rifle or its components is the proper way to maintain the Finnish & integrity of components . You did mention them in a later post though I see , but the reposes were before that.
  15. More questions , Did the rifle malfunction when in stock configuration ? Or did you change the hand guard before firing it the first time ? Do you still have the stock components ? Try loading one round in the magazine & see if ,after firing the one round , that the bolt will lock open after last shot . Try all the magazines you have .
  16. Looks like a good deal . I like Burris scopes .
  17. I have good luck with Fulton Armory & DPMS bolts , they seem to work & I do like my shadow Ops BCG .
  18. Yes ,but seemed like they were the only ones doing it & this fluting is a little different .
  19. You could email or call the manufacturers of BCG's you are interested in ,to see what hardness they use for there Bolts .
  20. Or you can have them alter yours for $ 189. Looks like a way to put more powder residue the chamber area
  21. We shoot prone between the bench's
  22. Nice scope , I can't wait to play with it at the range . I'll post a photo when I get a chance.
  23. I don't need one , but man ,do I want one of those . Great looking lower . Need a group buy or some thing !
  24. Man , blink an eye & I had to read five pages & this thread went to :cookoo: Cali_ed , you can also shoot from prone position for better stability .
