  1. Ya , my bad ,I had my 16" ,with CMMG lower with a SI Defence billet upper , next to me taking measurements and I thought it was the same as the DPMS . Its not ,the DPMS upper & or lower are diff.. I'm going to have to take some side by side photo's so you can see why I thought ,what I thought ,I saw.
  2. Fulton FF hand guard on the 20" , 0.281" from top of gas tube to inside top of hand guard. VTac hand guard on my 16" , 0.174 from top of gas tube to inside top of hand guard. Both my Kreiger /Criterion bbl.s are 0.936 gas blocks & both are 0.9895" behind gas block.
  3. It just may be my old eye's , but look at the third photo down . The gap between the charging handle & the lower receiver , where the receiver extension attaches or screws in ,is kinda wide or large. Is the upper receiver & lower mated correctly , meaning , in that photo, is the disassembly pin in its proper place for final assembly ? It looks like it is . Both of mine (charging handles )are just barely clearing the the lower receiver ring where the extension or buffer tube screws into . Could be just me .
  4. Man, its been a while since I viewed any of that stuff. Good stuff.
  5. I got a couple of hundred rounds of this stuff cheap & its mil spec ball ,149 gr. FMJ & it is short stroking in my 16" 308 with rifle gas system . I have never had a malfunction in this rifle with any thing I put through it . The only problem I have had with this rifle is the bolt hold open with some mags. I did not go through five rounds ,before it FF ,with that cartridge bending jam. I could not even get a box of ammo through it & I had five of those FF .Is there some thing about this ammo I should know about . Any one have problems with it . I got this mainly for the brass to reload ,but man, I have to have some fun shooting it also. I have not tried it in my 20" yet , but I did try several different mags, with the same results out of my 16".
  6. Nice ! I was beginning to think you were camera shy.
  7. My gas block on my 20" is a 0.936 . I did not take it off ,but I ll let you math brainiac's work it out . Barrel dia. behind gas block -- 0.9895" give or take a little . From bottom of bbl. to top of gas tube --1.205 " give or take a little .
  8. The newer DPMS uppers rail has been changed & there are few choices of hand guards out there made for them . Try looking at DPMS's own line of FF hand guards , they should line up correctly. I would call or email them ,just to make sure. A rail can be mounted to just about any round FF hand guard , with the proper rail & tools to do it . 22-250 sounds interesting .I see it takes the same shell holder as a 308 for reloading, so a 308 bolt should work as long as it is head spaced correctly. There are a lot of trigger systems out now for 308 AR 's. There is a section on them here some where.
  9. Once you put rounds down range with each stock , you will know which one is the right one. I just wish I had those stocks sitting around to pick & choose. <thumbsup>
  10. I would change banks . Some of the banks hold on to purchases & lump them into one day, just to hit you with over draft fee's . I am thinking of putting every thing in my credit union at work ,but its also nice to have a bank close to the house.
  11. How about a photo or two . Is the bolt design the same as a std. AR type 308 ? How about some spec's. , length & dia. . Kinda also makes you wounder what the thread pitch are, for the extension (on the barrel). I would rather use a new extension for a new barrel , but that's just me . Would a DPMS 308 type work ,with modification ? It all depends on the spec's they use for they extension & upper receiver. I'm sure there are spec's on the 308 DPMS type of extension some where or if some one has a barrel off, can take some .
  12. 300 blackout. Getting bbl. info now. (300BLK ) It is a 308 ? Right !
  13. Damn , where can I get some ? <lmao>
  14. Brownell's, but I use a lot of others & I am my favorite gun smith .LOL
  15. Well , 1911 , I was weened on them . I find my self drifting toward my new XDM 45 , after just firing one mag from it & ya can't beat 13 +1 .(I had to wrap it up for me for Christmas ) Of course I carrie a Kahr PM 45, but would not use it for every day range work . So, this is a loaded question .
  16. Adding rails would be less expensive , but may have some challenges with some hand guards. I'm also not sure how a bolted /screwed rail would hold up with a forgrip . Others here will have to attest to that. I do run a bi pod off a bolted/screwed rail & have had no problems with it . You will more than likely have a limited choice of quad railed hand guards with the newer DPMS uppers.
  17. Ya , me too . How can I SERVE them better!
  18. Same to you & yours and of course to all .
  19. I have read a couple of articles about that case . (if you can believe any thing in any type of media these days ) I'm sure glad he's out & didn't have to serve much time . The whole thing should not have happened & surely that judge, should be thrown out of his judgeship (that's a wise crack ). I have also read of some conflicting info on the arrest , so I would be willing to bet there is more to this than we will ever read or hear.
  20. I have a 16" with rifle gas system & a 20" HB & they out shoot me .
  21. I just got the spray on lube from Dillon with my 223 conversion & I have to say ,I have defiantly been behind the times . My first try , I dumped the cleaned brass in a box to spray the lube on & the container I had been keeping the cleaned brass in ( I have many containers of brass , in different stages) had some media & junk mixed with it . Well needless to say ,I had to wipe them all off because every thing stuck to that stuff. Went much better second time around , I size/deprime all rounds, than trim, clean primer pockets & debur case mouths. Than on to primer pocket swagging . The Dillon, using as just a size & deprime is a large step in production speed ,but that spray on lube is faster than I thought . I came home from work last night & went on a sizing binge.
  22. Now I'm jealous , but if I need more room the Lee 1000 can go into the closet with my RCBS Green machine .
