Hi GSM I just checked a couple of my 308 car's....while holding the charging handle back ive got about a 1/4 inch between bolt face and catch. your tube is too short..or you got the wrong spring.buffer in there. The only screwup ive ever had was a 6.8 that wouldnt cycle correctly....after rebuilding and swapping parts....it came down to an out of spec cheapie buffer tube that wasnt machined correctly on the inside ....drove me crazy for a bit :) Wash

Cali my suggestion would be to change your targets to some like these...it will help you the one on the left of course is Char's 1911 compact in 9mm....the one thats all over the place is me getting used to my new HK 9mm......damn that girl....lol.... :) Wash

Peter The reason I like Mega MA10 is because when you buy the matched upper/lower billet they come with a charging handle,and the takedown pins,and also the pesky detent pin on the front is already installed and so is the ambi bolt catch.....makes it easy peasy to start your build. also it has a tension screw,so if ever your upper/lower gets any slop you can adjust for it,but Ive never had to do this....they are built so exact you can hardly see the line where the upper and lower come together! money well spent and not that much more either than other brands :) Wash

Sure long range for fun.....but if you're training for self defense 7 yds or closer...its hard making a case for you shootin someone at a longer distance...you will be the one going to the big house...cause the state will say you could have run/removed yourself from the situation....only repeating what my lovely keeps telling me....cause she's the one that carries and is my bodyguard...lol :) Wash

I think..this is where a lot of Newbies go wrong on their builds...build it with the standard buffer tube,buffer,spring....makes a great starting point and a soft shooting rifle and a starting point for sorting out a new piece......Then one can play around with springs and buffers . only put a tubbs spring in one of mine just to see what it would do :) Wash
