Shot some really cool toys{Mega , LaRue, 1903a}, Saw a few parts that will solve some problems which I have with my guns. Got the biggest kick out of watching the guys shoot the slide fire stock, It left a smile on everyone face who shot it! Mike

  6. I found some flatpoint 170 gr rounds. Also will bring some 168 gr rounds.
  7. I have notice in the last few months more ammo cases going through the warehouse each week. One MFG up to 20 cases a night and the other MFG 50 to 200 small repack a night.
  8. I dont have to do that, all the local gun shops know me by name ! Sportsmans is the store that just has a few 100 packs of small pistol primers on the shelf by the end of the weekend. I can get any primers at Gun ETC but they are way over priced.
  9. Next your going to be telling us that we have to stand up and shoot like a man ! :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: And you'll break out your ole trusty SMLE. <laughs>
  10. When your buying small pistol primers and there are only 3 boxes of a 100 on the self then thats what you can buy !
  11. Good Rob... We dont need no stinken' scopes !
  12. Dont have any problems getting SRP's , CCI 400 $2.99 each @ Sportsmans Win WSP $3.25 each @ Sportsmans CCI #41 $4.25 each @ Bear Mtn
  13. Jon, I made a batch of 20 this morning: Sierra Gameking 180gr Spitzer Boattails with Rem 9.5 primers and 40.0gr of H335 on 2X RP brass set between 2.793" to 2.804". I'll bring them this weekend to shoot. It is a pretty big bullet at 1.281".
  14. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bikini ...Shorts and the Mask !
  15. That sucks. I drive by a half dozen gun stores and Bass Pro Shops just on the way to work.
  16. During the last election prices went up on ammo and supplies. I remember 40s&w ammo went up $10 a box then came down $5 and has stayed at that level since. Went to Sportsmen's Sunday and picked up 700 Win WSPM primers they had zero small pistol primers in stock. Two weeks before I got a box of Win WSP and 200 CCI 550 & 100 Fed 100 primers.
  17. Mike, maybe we can have you park at the park-n-ride by the I-10, and carpool down? Jon Hmmmm ! Someone needs to bring a 300AAC so I can shoot IT !
  18. The last 4 trips to range I have picked up a lot of brass. Besides my brass mainly 9mm. I picked up 900+ , 825 , 335 of .223 brass and 1700+ 9mm brass also 380 40&w brass. Plus a bunch of misc calibers. I have washed or polished all of it , decapped and sized all of the rifle and pistol calibers which I load. The pistol calibers were sorted per manufacturer then I primed the 40s&w with WSP and CCI 550 primers. The 9mm were primed with Fed100, Win WSP, Win WSPM, CCI 550, Rem 1.5 . I put tha same primer with mfg brass this time. The 223 brass is in various stages of prep: 100 ready to load , 4x 143 ready for I/O champher , 5 x 143 ready to trim , 350 ready to size. I have CCI 41 & Win WSR primers with 450 bullets left. I have been buying up small pistol primer when ever I can find them now I'm using small pistol magnum primers because the stores are out of what I need. Is anyone else having problems with primer supplies lately ?
  19. Sunday's range shoot ... will it be in Tucson or half way to Mexico ? I'll try to make that. Dont have any $10 bills to waste though ! Spent my fun money buying shooting supplies last weekend. Will bring some cool toys !
  20. I need phone numbers . Drop me an email Jon , 98 , Blue Mike H
  21. This would be a hit with the Water Bufflo and Beaver hunting crowds.
  22. Jon , WHY... Would you start at such a heavy bullet from the start ?? Learning to swim first would be wise (and cheaper) instead of jumping into the deep end of the pool ! Get your technique down ,make some mistakes and learn from your errors. The lighter bullets cost less ($20-$25 a box) the 180gr + bullets are ($36 + a box). You also need to figure out which primers your guns like and which powders and powder weight charges for each bullet weight round. I have been loading 308 rounds for over 3 years , started at 147gr and have worked up to 180gr so far. I plan to use 190 -200 - 210 & 220gr bullets for my other 30 cal guns. I will help you but you have to figure out a few important items first. COAL is a limiting factor as well, 2.810" is the range you will be working with but this depends on the magazine you will be using. Plug and play will work but the accuracy will not be there. Baby steps ! First brass prep...Second component selection...Third small batch production and testing...Full batch production. Sorry to ground you , but I want to slow you down and make you think (plan) so you are not pulling rounds because you got ahead of yourself. Mike H
  23. I am doing a little over 900 rounds of LC brass with military crimps. Sorted the brass per height of 1.760" and less ,then inside and outside champher those cases. All cases over 1.760" get trimmed to 1.750" then champhered. The military crimps are a real PITA, been using the RCBS tool but can only do one tray of 50 at a time.
  24. Magwa, The Gun is finish it took over a year and half, had build problems, barrel issues. Chose the 270WSM because I liked the 27cal bullets that I reload for three calibers. I'm doing the break in and fine tuning the ejection of the brass. Couple more mags through it and it should be good. The ballistics of the 270WSM with a light bullets(85gr.90gr) are close to 3900fps. Hunting loads with 150gr to 170gr bullets. The magnum case allows me to use this as a 1000M gun. Just need to get another high end scope ,I got some cheap glass on it now it will have to do until I can afford better.
