  1. SAA is standard mil-spec...Aero Precision. Same as Spikes ! All of the Aero Precision uppers are the same except for the engraving.
  2. Saw it , pretty good action flick. Cool guns but too many bad puns !
  3. Damm, Robo you would fit right in at the Mesa PD. Put in an application and move to AZ. Found a reason dont need any more excuses.
  4. Aero precision makes several diferent brands of uppers and lowers, Spikes is one of them. I was thinking that, this morning about the assembly.
  5. ALWAYS CHECK THE HEADSPACE ON A NEWLY ASSEMBLIED GUN BEFORE IT IS SHOT ! If you dont want to buy a set try to borrow a set or take your gun to a gunsmith or a local gun store that you do business with.
  6. Drew ,we think alike. My replacement barrel for my 22lr upper will be the CMMG m4 profile 1-16 twist barrel that Brownells has for $139.
  7. Whats the twist rate of your barrel ? A 1- 14 twist rate barrel is perfect for a 22lr barrel , the 1-9 twist work but will not be as accurate.
  8. It seems like everyone is talking billet . But... I will go out on the edge and say material is important 6061t6 is softer than 7075t6. The 7075 uppers are stronger and should be a little more expensive. Look for this type in your search. What was the cause beside the torque, Cross threaded or did some one put loctite on the threads ??

YES.. 43.0 to 45.5 gr is a good starting point. You might want to read some of the post I put up in this reloading section, there is a little info.
  10. WTF happened ! Was the upper cross-threaded ?? Did you use a receiver block ?? Take pics .
  11. Go buy a can of "PB Blaster" it is the best $h!T on the market ! Pep Boys or Autozone sells it. As LAST RESORT use heat.
  12. Like Hemi and Edge said the gun needs to be shot ! I need to add in 2 of 5 of my large frame guns the charging handle remove metal on the top of the charging handle and on the underside of the U.R. in the groove. Also the rings on the Bolt are a tighter tolorance in the 308 than in the 556, they need to be "Seated" like in a car engine, that is why the "wet lube" condition is always suggested during break in. So run it wet, shoot it, clean it, shoot it again. Get 60 to a 100 rounds through it before you start diagnosting any problems. The gun will wear some metal away. Just do a very good cleaning the first time !
  13. Mec 600jr or two other models for shotshells. Grafs.com has some on sale now.
  14. I remember a couple of girls from Marysville ,WA who were named Bambi and Thumper ! Waiting for the pics.
  15. Thanks guys, using RCBS seating die and NO FCD. Shouldn't be a problem. More worried about having the velocity too fast and the plating being stripped off during flight. I should be safe under 1300 fps. Saving up the plinkers for my AR pistol which is in the build process.
  16. I bought a box of Berry's Plated 125gr FP and a box of Sierra 140gr JHP Sportsmasters for the 357sig. Made 100 of the 125gr FP with 9.2gr of IMR-800X and 100 with 9.3gr of Imr-800X. I also made 50 of the 140gr FP with 9.5gr Imr-800X and 50 with various weights of Accurate #7.
  17. My lowers are 2-3 years old and have a low serial numbers (4xx) so TM may have changed their machining torarances.
  18. Totally a fitment issue on the DPMS mags. The Pmags fit like a glove and run flawlessly <thumbsup>
  19. Are you going to run a Data logger or a Palm pilot setup or something else to manage the fuel and electronics? Is your exhaust work done?
  20. Seconded on the Pmag. TM lowers DO NOT like the dirty old DPMS mags inserted in them. (That just sounds bad)
  21. Built two rifles from TM lowers. <thumbsup> DPMS upper on one and SAA on the other. Very good fit and finish on both.
  22. Great story Jon ! Liked the pics <thumbsup> . The underside of the plane is the view I had. Also Mt. Rainier in the background is so cool . Your dad was one hell of a pilot !!!
  23. I saw Bob Hoover's plane a couple of times. My Stepdad talked with him ,said he knew him back in the day. My Stepdad was a Naval Flight Instructor in Florida during WWII, he taught navigation to half of the navys pilots during the war. He was involved with the P-51 program. He met my mom for the first time when visiting the P-51 plant in Cleveland where she was a welder. My old boss at National Brands flew the F-101s and F4s. He had stories about bombing runs on the Ho Chi Min trail and a few dogfights with Migs. He was a former base commander at Luke AFB.
  24. Holy $h!t ...A T-25 turbo on a bike ... My buddy "Pocket Mike" sales the software and programs chips for those. I haven't seen one on a bike in 5-6 years. A couple of guys I use to hang out with put them on there Busa's. One guy claimed he hit 200 mph with the turbo kit installed.
  25. Yeah !! Make sure you lube to plastic block by the trigger guard and the sliding area on the stock. I put some petroleum jelly on it :P You will need to pull the upper away as a technique, not just letting it bump against your shoulder. I also changed the buffer to slow down the rate of fire.
