I bought a name brand (gov contract) 3 pt sling because it was only $7 on clearance and came with a A2 stock adaptor and a couple other neat universal sling mounts. what a catastrophe that thing is! whoever came up with the 3pt sling should be tied to a pole with one, and then beaten with another one.

that's hawt! better see it in the blade topic when it shows up! I totally almost bought a cold steel San mai khuk on Friday, but went with a tanto instead.

for 5.56, the gen 3s are compatible with more platforms (HK 416) and advertised to have slightly stronger feed lips. not sure if there is any difference in the 7.62 mags other than capacity. not sure about your PA10 but if it works with PMAGS, it should work fine with both generations

beach....preachin to the choir bud. the book was pretty bad. the movie was pretty good because I like sweet war movies. worth a watch just for entertainment value. not sure if there was any agenda behind the whole Kyle legend, but I prefer to see soldiers glorified than vilified. especially when its coming from the liberal cesspool of Hollywood.

also...I used a 1500° paint as a base coat on the barrel. the krylon is a little darker but still there. not sure if it makes any difference, I just figured it couldn't hurt. I'm not a mag dump kind of guy, so probably not necessary

prep shmep. sponge er down with dish soap and hot water. blowdryer. tape off the magwell, ch slot. if paint gets where it shouldn't be on any moving parts....it won't stay long. shake n spray. the hardest part is working backwards in your brain. the last color you spray is the main "background" color. if you use the mesh, your base coat is only going to show as the scales. also...less is more. when you like it, STOP SPRAYING. its fun, but you can wreck a cool pattern with one brain fart. both of my krylon guns have a best side, because I couldn't put the can down and uglied up one side lol

that Odin looks like its somewhere between DPMS high and low. I don't think its right for either just going by the pics.

DPMS low is the same height as standard AR15...so any standard AR front sight lines up perfectly. the DPMS high and ar10 are the ones that require some adjustment.

got mine for $27 each. sure wish I bought a few more.

DPMS high should be pretty close to AR10.

lay down a base color or 3, drape a laundry bag or similar over the gun, dust with top coats. bam. $10 custom job. if you don't like it, just start over. this is just a quick pic I pulled from google. I've seen some really nice looking ones. the MK12 guys on Ar15.com have it down.

I'm a fan of the krylon look to be honest. grab a laundry bag and go to work!

if your rings aren't QD, precision reflex sells a QD riser that is pretty cool. think its called gator grip

GG&G, A.R.M.S., Precision Reflex all make nice risers. little pricy, but id look at them first. you could go cheap, but its the link connecting your optic to your gun.

the link I posted earlier challenges this assumption. points out that an ATF agent in a dickish mood could potentially consider this a transfer. the wording is a but vague. I wouldn't want to be the guy either way.

honestly can't do much better than PMAGs. the Lancer poly mags look nice but are way overpriced at the moment. I think someone posted a link to brownells branded 308 mags if you want metal. havnt seen a review, but they put out great 5.56 mags.
