  1. aha! unless I'm taking crazy pills, you need a 308 specific spring. the AR15 spring won't cut it. the o ring is probably the only reason you have any tension at all. id try again with a fresh 308 extractor spring before I spent money on major upgrades. few Weeks ago a friends AR15 was doing that same thing. the extractor spring looked ok, but must have had a tiny crack. swapped with a new one and ran perfect again.
  2. Dring is just a D shaped O ring, so you have that covered. I had my money on spring as well. could be that the claw itself just isn't grabbing enough lip to hold it.
  3. id def. look at the extractor. if you force a round into the bolt face does the ejector have good spring pressure?

    Aguila 308.

crappy. this stuff was blowing primers like it was the cool thing to do. at least one per mag. got stuck in my carrier. got stuck in my lugs. were just falling out onto the table. never seen anything like it. I ran some milsurp stuff too and it was fine so it's not the gun. don't think I even want to shoot any more of this. probably give it to my bro in law for his bolt gun to plink with.
  5. rained all night on my side of town, but Marana was dry....and hot. had to glove up after an hour. maybe ill have to krylon them all. black guns suck in this state.
  6. hey shib...I10 to Marana rd exit. right at Marana rd. left on Sanders rd. little dirt road on the left hopefully marked with cones. if you get on google maps and start at the exit you can trace it to the pit. it's right near the little airport.
  7. for clarification...I'm going to go bug Jon at the Marana range at 8.
  8. just packed up. planning to be out there at 8. and thanks edge :)
  9. Fulton armory
  10. welcome from Tucson. I was stationed at huachuca, and never left. AZ caught me too :) as stated above, ASA makes side chargers and they are an AZ company. I know there one or two more but I can't think of them right now. I've seen a few guys who just mill a slot in their upper and tap their carrier.
  11. hey Jon..what time are you getting to the pit? maybe ill fill that 6am slot lol. id love to head north for a session with you Phoenicians, but the wife is gonna pop any week now. can't risk it.
  12. strip down on the spot for the walk of shame lol.
  13. thanks mad. I'm usually not into this type of thing, but a dia de los muertos skull pattern would be bad ass.
  14. I don't regularly use steel...but I know I can. my DPMS factory target upper wouldn't cycle steel or old surplus. when I built this rifle with a Rainier middy, I did a quick break in, and then ran a few mags of herters junk through it. cycled just fine, so I assume it will eat anything.
  15. I think he's down below 50gr. his loads for the mossy won't even cycle his AR lol.
  16. pretty hot today. AC went out in my work truck at 8 am. by noon, you couldn't touch any of the metal surfaces with bare skin. didn't get finished until 3. was starting to worry about the shotgun ammo detonating. was so hot I got the chills when I stepped into the 110 degree heat of outside. /threadjack I really like that rifle. my buddy has his shooting tiiiiiiny little groups at 100. think he's running a weaver 3-10x mil/mil on his. his also hates M855. seems to love the light stuff.
  17. so they can run crappy under gassed steel cases and 30 yr old surplus ammo without any FTE lock back issues :)
  18. lol..we use to have to practice tank maneuvers just using hand signals. it went about like that.
  19. is there a seam or mismatch line somewhere on the gun after the dip?
  20. actually looks kinda cool. but cmon....factory grip? do you choose a set template? is it possible to have a custom design done?
  21. I waited forever for some shadow ops stuff. they said it was gonna be a while from the start, so I ordered and forgot about it. was happy when I unexpectedly got a tracking number. if I need something, I only order it if it's in stock ready to ship. been shopping online long enough to know not to trust a backorder estimate.
  22. class As/blues are expensive! and all that damn staybrite brass...I didn't want to mess with that crap when I was in.
  23. well, if you can afford seven pair, and don't mind dressing the same every day, I suppose that's an option.
  24. are you looking to swap between optics or to mount the dot sight offset and run them both?
