Im in NOVA right now for work and with all the pro2A stickers and license plates I see everywhere I cant fathom how you guys got blasted so hard.

Everyone assumed this was the endgame soon as freedom group happened. Really surprised it took so long. I just assumed they were hoping to corner the market before they dropped the hammer. Jokes on them since the 2008 and 2012 gunpocalypse had the opposite effect and cause a huge surge in AR manufacturers. Losing the giants like colt/dpms/bushmaster wont have too much impact. Might raise prices for a while until someone picks up the demand.

I dont think DPMS was necessarily bad back in the day, but they probably produced 70% of the AR15 market, and did so at a significantly lower price point than Colt so they were bound to have a higher number of complaints and problems. Fulton is just DPMS guns with upgraded barrels, a pretty roll mark, and better quality control.

Really doesnt matter much as long as the parts you want are compatible. If you planned on using a barrel mounted front sight, low is the only way to go. Im not sure who all is doing low but you cant go wrong with DPMS or Fulton Armory. I can tell you what NOT to do....a 1st gen Matrix with DPMS barrel nut threads and a Armalite AR10 height top rail and receiver cut with proprietary takedown pins and LPK springs. Ill never take that gun apart.

Low is probably more prevalent at this point. Low is the same upper receiver rail height over bore as a milspec AR15 so you can use AR spec front sights and railed gas blocks and they will line up with the top rail and rear sights perfectly. That is the reason DPMS made the change. The "high" rail requires 308 height barrel mounted front sights and railed gas blocks to be a perfect match to the receiver rail. If you run a handguard mounted BUIS, it doesnt really matter since they will be on the same plane. You should always take the time to spec out your gun before you start buying parts, so if you have your heart set on a certain handguard, use that to decide what receiver height you choose. All things being equal, id probably go low.

Lol. The SHOT security guys were probably mostly in yellow shirts with a few in tan. The tan shirt guys are generally a little better. The firearms instructor for them is a good dude. He has his own school and holds them to a pretty high standard for the most part.

That sounds much better than my week lol If the security was the guys I think it was......they have a handful of REALLY solid guys, and 200 mouthbreathers. Its the reason they pay us to come up from tucson every year and run the Gem show. They import their entire supervisory staff. I had an invite to work shot this year but im stuck in DC.
