Nice. Always liked Stag, and most of my BCGs and LPKs are CMT. That nasty barrel on my MK12 is by ER Shaw from a Stag 3G rifle.

That looks like the old matrix with the AR10 style cut. had a few differences in the lpk. I dont even remember the details anymore but it was a PITA. All documented in the matrix subfoum here. Also caused me several other headaches during my over complicated build because of non standard specs. Check my thread Blue Builds a Carbine if you buy one. Turned out great in the end. Just took extra work.

When you incredible hulked it the first time....was the BCG in the gun? If so...pull that cam pin out. Does it look dinged up or heavily worn anywhere on the shaft? How about the slot it rides in?

Thats the cam pin. Hes saying that little pin on the barrel should be lined up with the gas key on the carrier. The chamber section at the rear of the barrel is threaded on and "glued". Its always possible you twisted it a little, but id think the slot in the upper would look ragged if that were the case, and it doesnt explain why the first round unlocks fine. I was also thinking maybe you crushed the front of the upper a tiny bit allowing the barrel to seat deeper into it shrinking the headspace enough to lock it up with a round chambered. No fix if thats the case. Its hard to troubleshoot this one over a computer.

He said the gun ran fine before he beat on it, so im tentatively eliminating the usual "308 tight chamber" as the problem. The mystery here to me is that it hand-cycles fine with an empty chamber, and hand-cycles on the first chambered round but locks up tight on subsequent rounds. Was this repeatable? Did you do this a bunch of times to verify? It just doesnt really make mechanical sense. if its going to hang up with a round chambered, it should do it on every round.

How does the alignment pin look on the barrel? How does the slot look on the upper that the pin slides into? If either one of those are messed up I can allow the barrel to twist and the bolt lugs might hang up. Edit after looking at pics on first page again...upper notch and bolt lugs look pretty good from what I can see.

Can you measure the inside of the buffer tube? It looks too long for your DPMS buffer. The inside is the important measurement.

7" internal depth is AR15/LR308 extension. You need the 2.5" LR308 buffer for that extension Or get the AR10/VLTOR A5 extension

My guess is you buffer system is wrong, but @98Z5V will be along shortly to verify those measurements. Its generally looked down on....but ive read threads on other forums of people swapping between AR10 and DPMS carriers and everything functioning.

Thats good to hear. I dont have tv so I dont see that stuff. I just get bombarded by liberal spin every time I get online. I just know mcsally isnt super popular, but id vote for anybody running against kelly. Hope that is a common sentiment. Guy is scum.
