  1. Lol
  2. Seriously? That meme got one laugh? You guys don't deserve me.
  3. Interesting. I've noticed my raptor CH popps loose from my matrix as well. Not all the time, but enough to be annoying. I was thinking of grinding the shelf a little deeper. @jtallen83 @98Z5V or the other matrix builds...Any issue with charging handle?

  8. Head scratcher for sure. Probably outside my troubleshooting abilities, and without putting hands on the gun id be looking at trigger, chamber and BCG. the hammer could be losing energy due to a bent/broken spring, bad hammer pin, maybe not fully resetting. Make sure the firing pin isn't being obstructed and is sliding easy. Make sure the bolt is turning. I'd be worried the bolt might not be locking fully into the extension which would cause the pin to not protrude far enough into the chamber to pop the primer. That could certainly be caused by a tight chamber. Has headspace been checked on this gun?
  9. https://www.gggaz.com/standard-and-scout-length-mounting-rails.html http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186634&CAT=4211 Heres a couple. I'm sure there are cheaper options but these are known high quality, and every link between your rifle and optic is a potential point for inaccuracies. Your rings will still work, but I'd recommend mocking up your scope at the new height to make sure you can still get a decent cheek weld.
  10. Only the Armalite AR10 is an AR10. It's a specific rifle model, not a generic label for all 308 cal AR style rifles. It may seem nit-picky but it causes issues since many people and even vendors and manufacturers sometimes say parts are "AR10" when they are not actually compatible with an AR10. Far as your issue...I have no idea why the first few shots work and noting after that. I've had issues with light primer strikes due to light triggers designed for AR15s but if it consistently acts the way you describe I have no idea. Either the shell is moving forward out of reach of the firing pin (unlikely) or the hammer is getting weaker or after the first few shots. To be clear Does it always act as you describe? Do you always get a few good ignitions and then always light strikes after that? or is it an occasional issue and sometimes it runs fine for a whole mag?
  11. What ammo? What trigger?
  12. For the scope...If it's touching you are a NOGO there. It won't hold zero. If you are dead set on those rings there are a few companies who make nice risers. GG&G and PRI come to mind.
  13. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but are you wanting to make the stock length longer? That MCTAR-30 you posted is for a collapsible stock. won't work with a rifle receiver tube. If you are looking to space out a rifle tube DPMS and KAC both sell extensions that come with the proper internal spacers and screws. The easiest thing to do will be to order the adjustable LOP shoulder pad made for that stock. that's actually the whole point of that stock... Adjustable LOP and cheek riser. This is the DPMS spacer
  14. Yup. IWC makes a similar product at a similar price but the noveske mounting system looked like it fit my needs better. The Tango down mount was cool as well, I just don't like the sling mount up by the receiver.
  15. If you want a qd mount up close to the receiver I'll give you a good deal on the tango down mount I'm not using. (PR16A4)
  16. Ehhhem.
  17. Worth noting here that the old MATRIX uppers were AR10 pattern barrel nuts and receiver cut, while the newer batch were AR10 receiver cut with DPMS barrel nut. Looks like they may have evolved again.
  18. Had a discussion on @98Z5V matrix build thread and I figured it would be good to put the info over here as well. The matrix upper seems to be short a rail slot relative to other brand uppers. The flat section over the charging handle area is larger resulting in one less slot. The slots themselves seem to be in spec relative to each other, but the position of them look to be slightly different that a standard AR10. this won't affect most builds at all, but I'm using the PRI MK12 setup with a monolithic top rail designed to work with the AR10 and it's caused me some headaches. Basically the entire top rail is about half a slot too far forward. I had to do some minor grinding at the corners of the top rail due to some interference with the barrel nut. I was sitting at about 2 MOA on the range with good factory ammo and I think this may have been part of the issue. Also upgraded to an ADM scope mount. Everything feels nice now and I have room to spare where the interference was so hope I got it sorted.
  19. Government decided to give me back a little bit of the money they stole from me this year so I ordered some upgrades. The factory aimpoint mount was pretty bulky and was in the way of the side charger. I really wanted a scalarworks mount but the ADM was on sale for less than half the price so I went that way. This is the compM4 low mount and it's just about perfect with the PRI rail. Folds up nice an tight so no issue with the charging handle.
  20. Or even go back one page...Where this technique was mentioned for the second or third time :D
  21. Feel your pain...I have 2 optic mounts arriving today and I'm at work. Not sure if I should waste an excuse or just give her the "i see my bank statements so you better not say a word" stare when I get home.
  22. A couple of the articles about this used a pic of Dimitri karras holding an 80% lower lol. He is pissed.
  23. I don't have a problem with strike, and I tried one of the dust covers and don't hate it...But I think alot of their stuff is made in Taiwan.
  24. Quick update here because it's relevant to matrix uppers and I'll do a longer update on my thread when I get a sec Having an extra slot won't help. It looks like all the slots are slightly off from a standard AR10 upper, so the AR10 SPR SLEEVE by PRI will be off regardless. For those who don't remember, the first batch of matrix receivers were AR10 pattern (barrel nut) and the newer ones are DPMS. They are all AR10 style receiver cut. I'm using LR barrel and BCG, with AR10 rail and barrel nut. Race mixing usually causes some issues with these guns lol. I did pull it all apart and reassembled it so it's solid and no interference, just a mild asthetic annoyance at the front end. Back to Tom's 338 build thread now.
