You CAN make a stock trigger a LOT better! Pretty easy actually. But man oh man is it nice to drop in a match trigger, hammer, and disconnector...take up the first stage, pressure slightly building <snap> just like a glass hematocrit, with 1/32" overtravel before stopping. Slowly relax pressure to reset point 3/32" forward <click>...time for round two!

Toured the USS Coral Sea (Midway class carrier) when it was at the pier next to us. Looked pretty tiny compared to the USS John F Kennedy and USS America. lol That French job is even smaller...more like the Tarawa.

Dude I worked with bought a 700SPS in .308 when they first came out. Took it to the range and got 1/4" groups with his standard reloads right out of the box! Talk about stoked! All he needed to do was replace that crappy plastic stock. A friend of his had a nice McMillan for trade. Dude installed the McMillan (don't know if he bedded it or what). Groups opened up to a couple of inches. Back into the factory stock. As to aftermarket goodies, Remington is the winner hands down. But it doesn't mean what is the best fit for you will be the Remmy...just means you could spend an awful lot filling a big box with spare parts for the gun show.

Absolutely the best short video on aircraft carrier operations I've ever seen! And conducted on a French vessel! We'll probably be seeing more of these ops in the near future... Look closely and you can see the two types of hold-back bars currently in use with USN: hydraulic @ 2:10 and T-bar @ 2:19. Also the two types of grabs: nose-gear and bridle @ 1:52 (last used operationally on EA-3 Skywarriors with USN).

That wedge-lock design is flippin' brilliant! Whoever came up with that put some serious thought into something so simple, as to keep the gun operational while experiencing wear. Brilliant.
