  1. Hell yeah you can blame Tom! Uuhhh...let me get back to you with exact wording on how you buying a second LAR-8 is Tom's fault. Wait! Because Tom will be doing a nationwide tour (someday) on his tricked out quad and all his rifles won't fit, so you need a spare for him. Yup... 8) Jon
  2. I do that radial engine move...got it patented. 8) My Dad was trying to explain to use how radials' pistons use a common throw on the crank...didn't get past "They're connected but not connected." Key is a master piston, as illustrated here. That sewing machine is pretty cool! Jon
  3. Wash, I looked up some of those 5.7 reloading components for someone recently. Only looked at Midway. They had dies, one brand of brass I think, and no/zip/nada/nothing for bullets in that caliber. You may have to buy in bulk when you find them. <laughs> Jon
  4. Oh poop...Rene is addicted to low pricing at Bud's. <lmao> Barely got his Scorpion ordered and is looking for another LAR-8 already! If you buy two at once you lose the sickness for four years. Jon
  5. You need to start reloading wash. You'll spend the same amount of money but shoot 5-10 times more. Jon
  6. Called today...got totally disarmed by Katie, a sweet gal on the phone. She pulled up my order, read the notes, then the muttering began. <laughs> "They <mutter>, someone put down <mutter mutter>, the notes are right, someone put down the wrong item number." So she's taking care of business. Gotta love a good gal that covers her coworkers! Jon
  7. $1850 is steep but probably closer to MSRP than I paid for ours. We used to have this place in Tucson called Jerry's Guns, which was a pure gun shop...no archery, hunting gear, any other stuff...just firearms. Every single price tag was one of the kind that says "Retail Price _____/Our Price_____" and they were all WELL over what the competitors in town were asking. I must say though, he had one copy of every type of Smith&Wesson (at the time), one copy of every type of Colt, plus any other handguns and many rifles and shotguns too. Never saw nor know anybody that ever purchased a firearm there. Someone recently said the dude, Jerry, inherited big bucks and just sat in his gun collection. Jon
  8. Dang wash...that's what, one...maybe two range sessions at best? :cookoo: That stuff should be ordered in 5-digit numbers! <thumbsup> Jon
  9. Store owners are fucktards? What pray tell are they asking for that EO? Jon
  10. He's such a racist, Obama is. Why does he only want the black rifles? :o Jon
  11. Pulled up this afternoon as UPS was leaving...box in the carport. Looks kinda small for anything I'm expecting. Label says it is from Hornady. Alright! The sent the new Magnum Sonic Cleaner to replace the one that didn't work! No, no they didn't. They sent the original model that has half the capacity of the Magnum. Will call them tomorrow. Jon
  12. Would you like mayo with that? :limp-wrist: <lmao> Jon
  13. Do not! My fly was up the whole time! :o Jon
  14. On what started as a cloudy day too! Spent the morning and early afternoon annihilating charcoal briquettes with shotguns! Always a good constructive use of time. <thumbsup> Shot some steel also with rimfire. Not bad. Even looking like a negative racoon with a v-neck, still better than working! Jon
  15. Don't know but welcome to the forum ripper51! Jon
  16. Congrats on post numero uno and welcome to the forum netsecsys! Good luck! Jon
  17. A birthday on Labor Day. There's irony for Mom. Jon
  18. If you watch the video on the Barnes website, the bullets are turned. If it were set up with a proper tool height there would be no nipple. Jon
  19. Wait wait wait a minute! That's not illegal? Jon
  20. Was shopping bullets awhile back, looking over the vast seletion with a vapid expression on my face, when it hits me that the Barnes copper solids are about the same price as the Sierra bullets. Holy crap! That's a great deal! Wait a minute...why is the Barnes box so much lighter? 20 bullets compared to 50?!? What the hell? Time to purchase that desktop CNC lathe I want and start cranking out pure copper bullets! Some tungsten core stuff might be cool too! Actually the alloy they use isn't quite pure. They've messed with it enough to get proper tension and ductility. Yeah...they are expensive. All the more reason for me to invent a coin squasher that will squish quarters into a nice 190 BTSF (boat tail squish face). Jon
  21. "All I really know is that the 'Military Crimp' holding the primer in the primer pocket is real hard on my decappers." ALL my Lee resizers and the one decapping-only die punch those out like like spitwads through a straw. Jon
  22. Nobody JefferyC. How come it seems to be only young veterans with current combat experience that happen to be criticizing the people in government? Jon
  23. <munch> Jon
  24. Welcome ARhabit! They are a habit now aren't they... Jon
  25. Wish I could CavScout. Prayers for your well being! Jon
