  1. Natural gas, especially if you have gas in your house already. Jon
  2. But I CAN make cookies in the sand! I've had a couple of friends that went to live in paradise and they said the same thing...after 10 months it was like "yippee...woo-hoo. This sucks." Jon
  3. I'm going to need a LOT of time off before I even visit there...I won't fly airlines anymore, so that puts me on a boat. All they have are revolvers for handguns, an SKS for a rifle. A Russian one. All in all, WAY too much hassle for me. Jon
  4. I have a relative moving to Hawaii, who is asking about getting their guns to Hawaii. Can they just ship them with all their other crap? Told them I don't think so, as Hawaii has mong registrations and permits. Jon
  5. Sorry Rene...you are correct. Just speaking on my experience. Jon
  6. Welcome Carne Frio! It isn't just you older folks...the whole medical community treats everyone like meat. Unless they are a special protected group. Jon
  7. NoFail, I can't find it...maybe they repealed it for stupidity? The regs online are old...AZ law did away with magazine restrictions and we may now use sound suppressors while huntin. Jon
  8. Don't know my own strength. Started up some .45acp on the Lee Pro1000 this afternoon. Was checking everything, making sure no adjustments were needed, when a case fell over as it was being fed into the shell holder. What in the hell is that resistance? Just push harder...oh look, I squashed a primed case sideways. So took some time to take the deprimer out of the sizing die, resized it, loaded it singly. Back to the rest...now what is wrong? It gets really hard right about...there. Okay, pull off the casefeeder. Some dipshit bent the casefeeder guide when he squashed the .45acp case. <thumbsup> Now I remember why I quit snapping lug bolts off. Fortunately I have two extra shell plate carriers, which contain the integral casefeeder guide. Should be able to repair the bent one. The moral of the story is: if you encounter resistance, stop. Hopefully this is the last time I have to learn this. <laughs> My edumacation cuts into my time allotment. Jon
  9. Oh it was! It was... Thinking about going back out after sunset to test that Vortex flash hider. Jon

    Hi !

    Welcome aboard Jake! Jon
  11. My brother was home in his apartment one night (back when he was a teen), lights off and he thought he heard something. Stood there in the dark and he realized someone was sliding open the back window ever so slowly. He waited, then grabbed the person in a headlock and turned on the light. It was the next door neighbor, who said... "Oh! Wow! Hey! You're home!" <laughs> No poop...you're lucky he wasn't a couple of years older or you'd have been eating buckshot. Jon
  12. Older folks are terrified of losing anything, especially their independence. Our Mom had been acting strange, then one day (a couple of years into the really odd behavior) one of my Mom's neighbors flagged down my sister. Said Mom had been knocking on their back window, when they went to see what was going on Mom told them the exterminator was looking for them. Mom was NOT happy (she even F-worded us) when we put our foot down and said assisted living. In the short time she lived with us we woke up with the house totally filled with smoke...a couple of times. I thought about this a few months ago when that 78 year old man got shot breaking into someone's home. Jon
  13. I've no idea other than appointed bureaucrats think lighted sights are poaching tools. I'll look it up...it may just be tritium iron sights. Jon
  14. Went out this morning, had the range to myself. A friend gave me two issue boxes of M118, so I used those to perfect the sight-in on the Eotech on Liberty. Got it perfected! Used a bipod on my hood for stability. <thumbsup> Went back inside the truck...left the phone/camera at home. >:( Tried the German surplus, which hit low and left...good to know. Time to move back to 150 yards. Another mag of the German...20 clang-clang-clang!! Get another magazine...oops. This one is Prvi Pritizen 175gr FMJBT. Back on center hold...clang-clang-clang-clang for anther 20 rounds. I love my Elite Operator! Jon
  15. And what are you planning on shooting for the next weekend after that gets there? <dontknow> Jon
  16. Many slings these days come with a means to attach the sling via webbing buckled around the forearm or other part of the rifle. Jon
  17. Everyone of those deputies and agents that shuffled this guy off also took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. Jon
  18. I know some people don't like auctions but I've had great luck with Gunbroker! http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Pistols/BI.aspx?Keywords=sig+scorpion Find a good dealer with all good feedback, transfer it in to your dealer. Jon
  19. <laughs> I particularly like the cop's response "Why don't you come down to our 'Meet the Public Day' and we'll let you shoot some real full-auto." Jon
  20. So the answer to my question in the other thread is "Yeah, I'm that one!" <lmao> This is what you're looking for! http://308ar.com/forum/index.php?board=88.0 Welcome again! Jon
  21. Welcome aboard capt greg!! THAT capt greg? <laughs> Jon
  22. So the Chesterfield County Sheriff's and the FBI picked this dude up for his Facebook commentary. Now Oath Keepers has taken up his cause: http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2012/08/20/former-marine-sergeant-victim-of-pre-crime-authoritarianism/ Jon
  23. Don't have one Magwa. But AZ just passed no mag restrictions on hunting rifles...20-rounder here we come! 8) Can't have illuminated sights though. Jon
  24. What's required? A good cleaning/degreasing, no? Did you heat the parts first? Jon
  25. Very nice! With a reduced tang that would be a nearly perfect blade! Jon
