  1. There are some yahoos out of Texas with videos of pig hunts from helicopters, not too well edited. I'm not flying with anyone that posts a video of them slapping the ground with their rotors. Jon
  2. Those gumpy stupid fucktards! Jon
  3. The best pic I have of the gaping black hole. On the Prvi case pervs! The anvil and primer cup are there too. It is hard to see, but you can see the cup has the normal dent, isn't flattened. Jon
  4. Nope, no pressure signs on that primer either. Hhmmm...let me look. Jon
  5. For all the rifles with a detached pistol grip these days, the ol' "Battle Rifles" are ideally built as a kick ass striking weapon! Jon
  6. You're gonna be surprised with how little kick that thing has. Is it a Mitchell's Mauser? Jon
  7. Yup...already happened around here. Contractor employees went from "Shazam! Prevailing wages on D-M!" to "There ain't no fricken work!" Jon
  8. Holes getting wallowed out, no good anymore. Used to have that issue with girlfriends. <laughs> Always started out "Oooo...that's the biggest one I've ever seen!" By the end it was always "You jerk little dick a-hole!" <lmao> Jon
  9. Oh yeah! Wait until you see what you can do with 300gr+ hard cast! Silly speed for heavy pills. Jon
  10. Where the heck are you shepp that dispatchers tell you not to do anything to protect yourself? Jon
  11. It is a Blackhawk with adjustable sights, right? Not the Vaquero? The Vaquero will NOT handle the Ruger-Only loads!!! In my Bisley Blackhawk Convertible, I have been shooting 300gr JHPs over a mid-range Ruger-Only load of Lil' Gun, 19gr. Smokin'!! And accurate too! Dang thing has me hooked...now I want one in .357 Magnum! Jon
  12. Maybe their holes are on the large size. I know handpriming pistol brass some are easier than others. Remington's flared holes are easy, Fiocci, S&B are tight...even worry about popping a primer sometimes. I've noticed that if you clean primer pockeds with the little stainless brush that RCBS has, it seems to rough up the pocket a bit, so it holds the primer a bit better. YMMV Jon
  13. I only lost the one primer. You can always do the ol' clear nail polish trick too...just to be sure. Jon P.S. I have 1,000 rounds or so.
  14. The new camo testing begins: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/after-wasting--5-billion-dollars--the-army-is-eyeing-these-new-camouflage-patterns.html Jon
  15. I trust Snopes about as much as I trust a proctologist with a firehose saying "You won't feel anything." Jon
  16. Like working the catapults in the Navy, you filter out everything...until that one shot sounds just a little tweaked. lol $40million dollar splash. Jon
  17. Honestly, I don't really give a crap. It is like arguing which is better, lever-action or pump-action, or is a cammed bolt-action better than a straight-pull bolt. If it hits where I'm aiming by golly that is good enough for me. Jon
  18. Ya'll don't shoot much do ya? That makes over-the-shoulder shots by aiming in a mirror easier. Jon
  19. Something I haven't seen mentioned, Stoner felt that there were some short comings with his AR DI system and the way the military was using it/feeding it. So he developed the AR-180. Stamped steel and piston system. Where are the millions of those now? Oh yeah...they didn't build them by the millions. Although that may be more due to mismanagement on the part of the few companies that went to produce it. Like I said before, with .308s at least, ask the piston-boys about bent oprods. To have a rifle (or any firearm) that comes with a list of loadings range that you need to stay in is a bit silly. It is one reason I haven't bought a Smith 25 in .45 Colt...I want to push a 300gr pill FAST. I only recently learned that the AR system isn't the only DI system out there. The FN MAS series of rifles is also DI but where the gas hits the bolt carrier is outside of the receiver, thereby venting the gases out into the air rather than into the receiver area. Anyone ever try to do a real good cleaning on a surplus SKS piston system? Jon
  20. Awesome spaniky! Did he airbrush them for that fine gunporn? <laughs> Hopefully he doesn't get arrested for threatening his teacher in photo class. Jon
  21. Welcome from AZ skinless! No experience here with the CMMG but it sounds like a cool setup. Did you post pics? Jon
  22. Next time, when Ranger Rick comes out with the mallet, hand him the rifle and take the mallet. Good square smack on the hand and voila! Make sure it is is his hammer hand. Jon
  23. Yup. Wifey asks "How do you know?" Because I've heard lots of each-gunfire, backfire (haven't heard in years), fireworks ('cause it's usually me lighting them off). 20 years ago, when I was poor and lived with a girlfriend that wanted to move at the end of every lease, we lived in a lot of "high gang concentration areas". Lots of shootings that were hundreds of yards away. I can't call caliber usually though. You should work for CSI. <laughs> Can tell though definate shotgun vs. semi-pistol vs. revolver somehow. Jon
  24. Well, took the Freedom Machine out this morning to see how she likes the Prvi 175gr FMJBT. I'd have to say she was loving it! Until she just quit working. :o Trigger won't move. Oh, must be the...nope, safety is off. Drop magazine, clear chamber, lock bolt back. Drop bolt. No clicky-click. About then I see a twisted piece of brass. Upon closer examination, it is an anvil from a primer (shooting off the hood of my Ranger, usually there isn't any anvils on there). You have GOT to be kidding me I'm thinking, having JUST read an article yesterday where a primer jammed up the trigger group on an AR15. Pull the upper off the FM and sure as poop, the primer cup is down in the trigger group. Squeeze the trigger, primer is blocking it. Dump it out, trigger works fine catching the hammer with my other thumb. So now the search begins for the offending cartridge that lost the primer. Found it...nice once fired brass with the primer missing. Anyone try the clear nail polish to hold the primers in place? Jon

    Passed

Nothing in the mainstream media about this but it looks like the UN Small Arms Treaty passed in round 2...on Constitution Day. http://ncrenegade.com/editorial/u-n-small-arms-treaty-passes/ Jon
