  1. I've been using the Gun Shack G2 flashlights for the last couple of years now I have a couple I keep around the house and one in each vehicle. My son also used one when he was working at the correctional facility here and now carries one in his MP duties in Okinawa. I believe I've bought 8 or 9 and none of them have ever given me a problem! $25 each and you can use a AA battery or a CR123 Lithium battery. The bulbs are LED. http://www.gunshack.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=315
  2. SIGH!...........No, but it would sure make us guys happy! <laughs>
  3. Great analogy Stain! <thumbsup>
  4. You backed up a virus Terry! Sounds like something I would do! <lmao>
  5. The stuff in stores is picked before it's ripe (just like tomatoes, apples, bananas etc.) and that is why they don't have the full flavor that stuff ripened on the vine or tree do. They pick the stuff at a point where when it hits the store it's just starting to look ripe. My sister-in-law had a banana tree in her back yard down in Clewiston Florida and I didn't know bananas could taste THAT good until I had eaten ripe ones from her tree! That's why I grow my own tomatoes, you can't compare fresh picked ripe tomatoes to anything on the store shelves! My wife makes the best spaghetti sauce I've ever had with my ripe tomatoes.
  6. I can honestly say that sometimes their upbringing has no bearing on how they turn out. I have two stepsons that are only one year apart in age and were raised the same, side by side. One is a US Border Patrol Agent, head varsity wrestling coach, and former Marine and the other is in the New Mexico Corrections system for a few years for larcenies and drug violations. What the hell caused such a radical difference? Damned if I know! <dontknow>
  7. I've got a 'Bianchi Firearms Record Book' that a friend gave me over 20 years ago that have all my guns in it. It's pretty thorough, has spaces for make, model, ser. #, value, caliber, barrel length, special features, date acquired, date sold and disposition, I quit putting any kind of value for a firearm in the book, I had $480 for my Colt Anaconda and $600 For my Colt Python back when I bought them and both of those guns are worth over $1K each now!
  8. Military brass is still being shredded! Some of you might remember that a friend of mine who works for Raytheon at White Sands Missile Range had picked me up quite a bit of 7.62 brass. I was at the USPSA match in Las Cruces last Saturday and one of the guys there had won a DPMS GII at a 3 gun match and needed brass. My buddy told him that he couldn't get him any now, all the brass at White Sands had just gone to the shredder!
  9. A Cord! Nice! <thumbsup>
  10. RadioGuy, I honestly don't think you'll have a problem controlling a 1911 in 10mm. My son, who's only 5"7" as an adult, was shooting a 1911 in 45 ACP with standard loads (NOT downloaded) in action pistol competition when he was only 10 years old. With proper practice the 1911 is a very controllable handgun and is a good fit for probably 99% of those willing to put in the time to practice with it. Back when I was the firearms instructor for my P.D. at one time I had a good 2/3rds of the officers carrying 1911 pistols and very few problems with any of them being able to handle the gun. At the same time, there was a deputy from the local S.O. that carried a Colt Delta Elite 10mm. He was a scrawny guy, and he loved that gun! Shot the crap out of it too!
  11. Gnatshooter, he was talking about letting the bolt fly on a round that's already in the chamber. Letting it fly when stripping the next round from the magazine is not a problem. the friction of stripping the round from the magazine slows the bolt's momentum down considerably.
  12. Same here! ALL of my 308 brass is milsurp fired from a machinegun, about 3k rounds of it!
  13. Nitro cars are AWESOME! When we are at the dragstrip in Tucson for nitro races I walk around the pits and head to wherever I hear a nitro car fire up. When they shut down I'll walk away coughing and hacking, snot running out of my nose and tears streaming out of my eyes. My wife says there is something seriously wrong with me! What do you guys think? <dontknow> <laughs>
  14. Brass flow is caused by too much shoulder setback when resizing. I don't believe that the length of the case neck would contribute much (if any) to that problem. I've got a bunch of .223 brass that got trimmed to 1.745 that I've been shooting with no problems at all. Don't ask how I got them that short! ::)
  15. <laughs> Being a substitute teacher at the local high school, I have kids trying to sell me those damn candy bars all through the year!
  16. You can keep shooting the shorter cases. The biggest problem I can see with trimming cases too short would be the shorter neck not having enough tension to keep the bullet from being set back an an auto loading rifle. If that hasn't been an issue then I wouldn't worry about it.
  17. If some doofus left his AR at the range he probably shouldn't have it in the first place! Just sayin!
  18. Hell YEAH!
  19. Tom, I KNEW you would jump on this bandwagon! <laughs> You gotta give me a handicap bro, I'm busy getting my crap together and flying out to Massachusetts Thursday morning! :fawkdance:
  20. :sign10: <laughs> <lmao>
  21. In the 1911 the 10 mm grip size is the same as any other caliber. The .40 mags for a 1911 usually have a spacer in the back part of the mag to compensate for the shorter round.
  22. About the only ones I've seen using them are 3 gunners, and not very many of them.
  23. I'm claiming tailgunner position! :auto: Can't have anyone sneaking up on us. Just keep the beer cold and pass me one every now and then! :hethan:
  24. I gotta get me one of these! My shooting buddy got one and showed it to me today. I can sit out on the patio and shoot the damn flies with table salt while I drink my beer. :auto: Cheap ammo and I can fuk me up some pesky flies! Bet Tom ain't got one of these yet! <lmao> http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AB88UDA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=20CWGPUS2CUJ7&coliid=IO0XVRGX0Z2BS
