You and me both! That's alright though, we'll probably meet up at Helldorado, on Allen Street, at high noon, and you know how those things always end. The ugly guy is faster on the draw! :enguard: :auto: <lmao>
What Terry said! I've been building and modifying 1911s for 30 years and he pretty much covered it. More tools and a lot more hand fitting involved with the 1911 platform compared to the AR platform.
I won't set foot in a Best Buy! Their customer service is some of the worst in the industry and I've experienced it. Many years ago I had a problem with a TV I bought there (WITH an extended warranty) and was basically told to pound sand. I haven't been back in one since then. A lot of folks in forums that I frequented back then were also experiencing the same thing with them, so it wasn't an isolated incident. They may have changed since then, I don't know since I refuse to spend a dime there, but even if they have I won't go back just because of how badly I was treated in that incident. If every store they have burned to the ground tonight I would have several bloody mary's in the morning to celebrate and transition to beer at noon! :banana: :ifly: :hethan:
My LR308 has the 18" heavy barrel. I had the portion in front of the gasblock turned down to .750 diameter and had the muzzle cut and threaded for a brake that Rene (Unforgiven) sent me. I have a parkerizing setup and reparkerized it. You can't tell it from the factory fifnish. All the work was down by a machinist friend of mine so I can't really help you on who to send yours to.
Damn, I almost choked on the hotdog I was eating. Had to read that one to the wife! Hilarious! Youth and enthusisasm is no match for old age and cunning!
Not according to Powder Valley. They ship powder and primers together regularly. Quote from their webpage;
WE CAN COMBINE UP TO 48 LBS. OF POWDER AND PRIMERS UNDER ONE HAZMAT TO SAVE YOU MONEY. IF SENDING FUNDS IN ADVANCE, PLEASE CALL FOR ASSISTANCE IN CALCULATING YOUR AMOUNT.
I was born and raised in El Dorado and lived in Parsons before I moved to New Mexico. All my brothers and sisters are in Hutch now. Like you, I always waited until the first freeze to hunt rabbit. What I really miss about Kansas (I know, it's weird) is the spring rainstorms! I was never worried about tornadoes.
Rene is talking about sopapillas, a lot of the mexican restaurants here serve them after a meal.. Indian fry bread may be the same thing, I haven't had that so I don't know.
Same in New Mexico. I tell people that the cottontails in Kansas were almost as big as the jackrabbits here. We ate a lot of cottontails when I was growing up in Kansas, pheasant too! I don't eat jackrabbits, and these little cottontails we have here always seem to have worms!
What bugs me is that stuff like that can be shipped in a flat rate Priority Mail box for a LOT less than what these companies charge for shipping! I've asked a couple of businesses why they don't do that and the usual response is "We ship everything by (UPS/Fedex). We don't use anything else." I've made some of my purchases based on the comany's shipping options!
Well, 10 years ago wasn't bad. I was still going into Juarez back then with friends of mine to build houses. They had a ministry and built one or two houses for needy families down there every summer. Once the slab was done we would go down there and put up a 2 bedroom 1 bath house in about 3 days. The last time I went down with them it was starting to get bad, there were soldiers patroling in Dodge pickups, two in the cab and 4 in the back with automatic weapons.
