  1. I like two tone guns, I think it will look just fine. I've got a Matrix Arms 308 build that is burnt bronze cerakote with black furniture and it looks great!
  2. It worked out pretty good with the length of the hand guard I used. I had a backup plan if there was an issue with the original gas port though. My gunsmith buddy told me if I brought it to him he would do a quick hit on the original gas port with his TIG welder. A little light file work and no more port! The gas block seal seems to work just fine though and I didn't want to put any heat in the barrel if I didn't have to, even as slight as that TIG would have been. As a certain silverback always says, "Don't complicate shitt with complicated shitt!"
  3. You guys would have to see that scope up close to see the work Tom put into masking that thing, it's amazing!
  4. Yeah, I think this one is gonna be just plain fun to shoot!
  5. It's in the narrative, 10 & 5/8" White Oak Armament gas tube with a PSA adjustable gas block. I set the gas block to where it was just inside of the handguard, which covers the original gas port and seals it. That put the gas port I drilled right at 1/2" back from the original gas port. The new gas port is .078 (2mm) and yeah, the friggin drill bit broke just as it broke through to the bore! I did manage to drive it on through and cleaned the hole up with another bit. That was the only drama with the build other than the extraction issue.
  6. Haha! I put the graphics on it because I couldn't stand the stark white, I'm not big on white but the price was right. I sent some pics to my son Josh and he said "Well, at least it doesn't look like a city truck now!"
  7. Here's a couple of pics of my 308 pistol build with the 12.5 inch Sig barrel. The brace is an SOB brace, Diamondback blem receiver set, Sig barrel, Sprincco orange spring and a 5.4 oz. buffer, CMMG 9.5" hand guard, LaRue MBT2 trigger, Magpul MOE+ grip, D. Wilson BCG, White Oak Armament 10 & 5/8" gas tube with a PAW adjustable gas block and an Aimpoint Comp M4s. I put the adjustable gas block on because I plan on shooting it from time to time with a suppressor on it. I had extraction issues at first, which was an issue for a couple of the guys on here back when we bought these BCGs from Dave Wilson. I solved it by doubling up on the rubber o rings on the extractor springs. After that, I ran 120 rounds through it with no problem just to break it in. Next step, get it on paper and see what it will do! I dialed the gas block 3 clicks past where I got BHO and the recoil is pretty decent!
  8. BTW, this gun looked so awesome I had to go buy a new truck to put it in after I got it back!
  9. @98Z5VMy apologies for taking so long to get these up Tom! This is the AR with the tiger stripe cerakote that Tom has been referring to, I was blown away when he gave this thing back to me. My wife said she hadn't seen that big of smile on my face since the last time she...well maybe I shouldn't go there! Anyway, this thing is outstanding! A huge thank you to you brother!

  11. Susan, I used to work out with a guy who was missing a foot. I don't know at what point the amputation was but he used to do heavy barbell squats without a spotter. I'm gonna say in the 300 lb. range! I don't think he will be all that handicapped if he does loose his foot (God forbid!) once he gets used to the prosthesis. The only way anyone could tell that the guy I worked out with had a prosthetic was because he always wore shorts when he worked out and you could see it just below his knee. BTW, he always lifted wearing combat boots, I think the lace up boots helped his prosthesis work better. Your young friend is in Mayra and my prayers.☹️
  12. ^^^^That right there! I'm surprised that several gunsmiths didn't "know how to help you". That is an easy fix and 98 described exactly how to do it.

  15. NOT SORRY!!!!
  16. The newer brass fired in machine guns isn't much better! I got about 1500 rnds. of M60 brass form a friend of mine that works at White Sands Missile Range and the primer pockets were so loose in at least a third of that stuff they wouldn't hold a primer for crap! It was all W-W brass. I don't know what caused the primer pocket problem but it was definitely a problem.
  17. Sounds like that barrel may have an undersized gas port! Not uncommon in this platform.
  18. Hey, why you posting my pic??!!!
  19. Bwahahahaha!!!! Sounds more like someone farted hard! I grew up in Kansas, I've seen some tornadoes!
  20. Welcome from New Mexico!
  21. All right! I've lost count over the years how many wrestling tournaments I've been to, 2 sons and 4 grandsons. We have 3 New Mexico State Wrestling champions in the family! Great sport.
  22. @CrimsonboatI have personally seen 98Z5V (and Matt Cross) consistently nailing targets with the only illumination on the target being a flashlight propped on the ground in front of the target and the target was 500 yds away. No moonlight at the time either! He definitely has low light shooting experience.
  23. Haha!!! He's gonna start coaching you on what to do with them! He WILL help you spend your money!
