  1. Awesome! Thank him for his service for me next time you talk to him!
  2. I already get most of my bullets online. By the time I figure in hazmat charges It is usually cheaper for me to buy powder and primers locally. I'm in Las Cruces often enough for other stuff that I can find what I need when I need it over there.
  3. Great deal right here and only about a 1&1/2 hour drive from you. Also, the owner Chris Reideman is a member here and great to deal with! http://www.livefreearmory.com/product/lf308-16-tactical-carbine/
  4. Sent that link to Josh, he was in with that bunch when he was in 29!
  5. Mrmac, I've got one of those on my Matrix 308 and love that scope!
  6. My LGS closed up and now I have to drive 54 miles to get to a gun shop! Damn good thing I reload most of what I shoot and what I don't reload (shotgun) I can get at Wallyworld.
  7. Sonofabitch died on my wife's and her dad's birthday, now THAT is karma! Her dad had his welding shop taken away from him by Castro and later spent time in prison for speaking out against him and was then made to work in the sugar cane fields. He brought my wife and her sister and brother over from Cuba when my wife was 10 years old, leaving his wife (a Castro sympathizer and member of his women's army) in Cuba. He died 40 days after getting to Miami. I'm sure he is smiling now, my wife sure is!
  8. The Omni Hybrid is a polymer lower receiver. Nothing wrong with that, it should do just fine especially with 300 Blackout, but I didn't know if you're aware of the lower.
  9. Colt Python! I traded off the 4" one I carried on duty when I first started my LEO career and always regretted it. I now have a 6" model (along with a 6" Anaconda 44 Mag) and will never let it go!
  10. Thanks Shepp!
  11. Fukkin bushy tailed rats!
  12. ROFL!!! Back when my wife worked the E.R. the deputies brought in an asshat that was well known to both of us. He said he was having chest pains and was obviously playing the system, trying to get a nice comfortable hospital bed in lieu of a cell bunk. My wife came out with 'the tube' (which, by the way is called a Foley catheter). When he saw that he asked her what she was going to do with it and she told him it was going in his penis. He told her he didn't need it and she said it didn't make any difference what he thought, if he was having chest pains he had the get a catheter. Dipshit made a miraculous recovery right there on the spot and asked to be taken back to jail. The deputies loved taking guys like that in when my wife was working.
  13. Personally, I wouldn't carry any kind of gun with smartgun tech and wouldn't have when I was still active either, I just can't put my trust in something that could disable my gun when I needed it, no matter how slim the chance. Protecting my gun was ALWAYS in my head and still is. I took advantage of every bit of retention training I could and it actually paid off one night! I'm not gonna bore you all with the details but when that person made the grab for my gun I went into autopilot and the next thing we both knew is I was on top and the grabber was back down on the ground looking up at me, gun still in it's holster right where it was supposed to be. I agree with Jon that the majority of those who carry concealed are severely lacking in gun retention training and most don't even ponder the concept! Boggles my mind I tell ya! One of the first things I was told at the academy was "there will ALWAYS be at least one gun at every call you answer, YOURS!" That was the point where I decided if someone was going to use my own gun on me they were going to have to put up on helluva fight to get it! I feel it's my own personal responsibility to keep control of my weapon, not depend on some piece of technology.
  14. Here's another one that just recently happened. Those of you still doing the job take heart, we are out there and we have your backs! http://komonews.com/news/local/bremerton-police-officer-thanks-good-samaritan-who-saved-him-from-violent-attack
  15. You're contradicting yourself, first you say "Actually it depends upon how you lift the front axle", then you say " instead of lifting the vehicle just push it forward".In your original post you said " (jacked just high enough to rotate the tires) " and I pointed out that the vehicle needed to be on the ground to get the true toe-in. Also, if you put 3/8" to 5/8" toe-in on a vehicle it will chew up the tires in a very short period of time and probably wander all over the place! Toe-in in a rear wheel drive vehicle is usually only 1/8" and on some front wheel drive vehicles it can even be zero!
  16. Blue, you only needed a short piece of 2X4, just long enough to hold the nail steady while you scribe each tire, one tire at a time.

A slide fire stock is cheaper and a LOT more fun, as certain members here can attest to! (Me included)
  18. Mrmackc, a control arm suspension will change toe-in a LOT throughout it's travel range. The vehicle needs to be on the ground at normal ride height to get a true toe reading. I did alignments for several years and learned a few things.
  19. Deleted
  20. Throttle by wire for AR's! It works pretty good for new vehicles! That being said, I have absolutely no interest in something like that and I still like mechanical throttle linkage going to my (GASP!) carburetor!
  21. Take a 2X4 and drive a 16d nail all the way through it. Jack up each front tire and use the nail as a scribe on each tire and spin the tire to scribe a line all the way around the tread. Set the vehicle back down and get someone to help you measure the distance between the scribed lines at the front and back of the tires. The difference is your toe-in (or toe-out as the case may be). You should move the vehicle backwards and forwards to settle the tires after setting it back on the ground before measuring.
  22. I seem to remember reading over at 300blktalk.com that the 300 blackout gas ports were in the .090+ range. JT,, I'm sure if you go there and post a question about it you'll get some good info on that. There are some very knowledgeable guys over there when it comes to the 300 blackout and they are a good bunch too, nothing like arfcom!
  23. It will be beautiful!
  24. Here's another one from SC, this guy got dead too! I love this schit! http://abcnews4.com/news/crime-news/man-dead-2-deputies-injured-after-fight-on-highway-78-near-ladson-fairgrounds I didn't carry for the longest time after I retired but now I carry at all times. I'm just waiting for the story of a retired cop helping an on duty brother, it's gonna happen! Thanks to HR-218 these scumbags don't realize just how many retired cops are walking around out there with a concealed weapon!
