  1. SS, in USPSA shooting there are separate stages in their own bays adjacent to each other. Shooting can be going on the the bay next to yours while you're taping and resetting targets as the berms are high enough to preclude any problems. This is SOP for a USPSA match and has proven safe. The thing is, even with hearing protection on and the fukked up hearing I have I still have no problem in telling the difference between shooting in the bay next to me and shooting in the bay I'm in!
  2. Titanium actually weighs more than aluminum!
  3. This happened at the Lake Havasu, Az club match last week. It's a given that the RO had his head up his arse but apparently the dipshit picking up brass did too, as he had no idea what was going on until the shooter was right on top of him!
  4. Good on ya Madhouse! <thumbsup> Rescue dogs are the best!
  5. Back when I worked as a roughneck we called it a washdown! <lmao>
  6. Times are tough, gotta use whatever box you can find lying around! <lmao>
  7. Bwaahahahahaha!!!!!!!!
  8. Glad to know I'm not the only one that does that schit! <lmao>
  9. SS, Tom is dead on with his stance on reloads for LE. Back in the 80's we were told by the state's Risk Management attorneys that we were not to carry handloads for duty use. They said that if they were used in a shooting they basically couldn't defend the use of them. Our department policies forbid the use of anything but factory ammo for duty because of that. I load thousands of rounds every year but, like Tom, I only use factory stuff in any carry gun out of habit and paranoia. Fukin defense attornies will latch onto the use of handloads like a pitbull and do everything they can to turn that against you.
  10. It seems a lot of places use shipping to make money these days. I just ordered 4 assemble yourself drawers for a bathroom cabinet I'm building. The drawers cost $76 and the friggin shipping was $40!
  11. The one closest to the muzzle is the one that gets all the blast erosion. General consensus is that a muzzle break device alleviates a lot of it as the blast shield on the device takes most of it. Some guys building direct mount cans are using a valve spring retainer as the first baffle to act as a blast shield. You can't legally replace any of the freeze plugs once the can is built, only someone with the proper FFL can do that. There are some guys who have put over 1K rounds through a can with freeze plug baffles and there is very little wear. You can always rotate the freeze plugs too.
  12. Yup! :bat: Jon has already built up a pretty sizable account! :fawkdance: <lmao>
  13. It could be the die moving in the press or the bullet seating stem moving in the die. Lee dies don't have a lock ring on the seating stem, just a rubber o-ring to keep tension on the stem. That is one feature I don't like about the Lee dies but so far it hasn't been an issue with the ones I have.
  14. The parts I'm using to build my Form 1 suppressor are technically solvent trap parts. As long as I don't drill out the endcap I'm good to go on possession. Pictures here;
  15. Click on the pic to see Matt blossoming! <lmao>
  16. Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Some what? Barrels to fit the oddball threaded flash hider?
  18. Back years ago I had some steel 45 ACP cases that I reloaded. That schit was hard to resize! I finally threw the stuff away after I managed to pull the carbide sizing ring out of the die.
  19. That's called a PPV event! :)
  20. THIS is one of the things that make a good officer IMHO!
  21. Fuk Penny Nelson! If her POS son hadn't been such a poor choice making douchebag he might still be alive. #1 He did something to get his sorry ass arrested #2 He had a concealed firearm. #3 He kicked his way out of a police vehicle and tried to escape. #4 He pulled said firearm and pointed it at the officer. Take any one of these out of the equation and he would probably still be alive. Who's responsibility was it to teach him to make good decisions in life? Penny Nelson I do believe that YOU failed your son!
  22. Not to mention poking the gorilla too!
  23. Mike, most 300 BLK barrels are threaded 5/8X24 TPI.
  24. Not a veteran but I'm pretty sure I know what it is and what it does.
  25. Both cops are out of the hospital now. Apparently they got a line on the shooter/s, news story said they had raided a house where the suspects were.
