  1. Had a "wanna be" trainer tell me further back was faster, skipped his class.............

  3. Did a low reciprocating mass build in 5.56 a while back and it shoots very soft. I think the key was balancing everything, adjustable gas block, low mass BCG, weaker spring, and no weight in the buffer. Stays nice and flat, even less recoil, and once I got a proper ejector in it reliable with no malfunctions in at least a 1,000 rounds. Catch is all the special parts mean a more expensive build.

That is some damn fine meat right there!
  5. Missed that, you are correct as usual.
  6. There's always the pistol option. The new SBA3 is a pretty inviting option. https://www.sb-tactical.com/product/sba3/

  8. For 300 yards and in I wouldn't be concerned. I've done some research on the 1:8 twist stuff, they do better for the heavies when you run the math but it isn't an earth shattering difference plus finding and paying for the odd twist rates is another issue. I have a Sig P716 with a 12.5 inch barrel and am in the process of using one of there 12.5 inch barrels on a DI build. I have not seen a big difference in bullet weights, at least nothing more than I have seen with other lengths, every rifle will have its particular favorite. I do really like the 130 gr. MK 319 load but then it was designed from scratch for short barrels and barrier blind penetration.
  9. Drum Circle Haze DIPA, Catawba Brewing Morganton N.C. Hops, hops, and even more hops! Very similar to those New England IPA's from Tree House, but not as smooth. A hint of citrusy fruit but with a piney somewhat dank finish. I have no intent of attending the Asheville drum circle event with all the hemp hippies but I will be enjoying their beer!
  10. He's young and dumb, cut him a little slack and only pound one nut flat.........
  11. Those all look nice, the tasting thing at a brewery would get me in trouble unless I had a ride. Catabwa is releasing a double IPA today that has my hopes up, hope I can snag some.
  12. Not sure about the Strike spring, I would go with a Tubbs flat wire spring, LaRue had them for $19.99 last I looked. You could try a heavy buffer, I noticed a minimal change with mine.
  13. If the buffer is slamming the retainer pin then something is out of speck. It should stay right on the carrier and never touch the pin unless the receiver is open.
  14. Since blasting is part of the prep process for most finishes you could give them a light coat of appropriate color flat spray paint and see if there are any defects you want to fix before final finish.
  15. Love that camo! Someday I will have a winter rifle that doesn't rely on a rattle can. Looking forward to seeing how that barrel shoots.

  17. Guess I should have kept reading Really needs to be a sticky in the 308AR parts section...........
  18. Here is the thread with all the BCG measurements from different makers. It would be great to make this a sticky and include the PSA BCG.............
  19. WEE HEAVY-ER Scotch Ale from French Broad Brewery in Asheville N.C. Salted caramel is the first thing that came to mind when I took a drink. A very caramely taste, sweet and smooth, a tad bit of smoke with a bit of a scotch taste at the end. Easy drinking!
  20. Somewhere there is a thread with BCG measurements showing why some length gas tubes end up short when combined with certain systems. Sure a rifle will function with a short tube but only when other parts of the system are adjusted. I am betting an Armalite rifle gas tube will put it right near the middle of the cutout.
  21. Some of us can still cuss.............and do. You should run over to the SigTalk board and try a Fuk or a schit, even arse gets you a strike or banned. Just eluding to anything a preacher would consider vulgar in church gets you a strike! This place is one of the most wide open, uncensored boards on the net. This is Freedom and Liberty brother, you are free to ignore anything or anyone you want here and there is no way anything done on this board can actually damage you unless words actually hurt you.........
  22. Doesn't sound like you were that out of line, poor quality nut maybe?
  23. Welcome from Iowa, via N.C. How sure are on the 50 lbs? Did you calculate the offset?
  24. Not much since Col. Westrom was bought out has been normal or business like! They are little by little killing off the brand again.
