  1. This one; http://www.primaryarms.com/h3-heavy-buffer-ar-10-gi-carbine-buffer-5-4oz-armec0120
  2. Unless you like the used hard look I do my best to beat on my stuff regularly to find that weak point. The QPQ/Nitride finishes seem to be the only one that doesn't pick up marks from handling and use.
  3. I agree on both counts. Used an 18 inch rifle gas on a build for my Brother-in-law and it shoots lights out. For what the tool costs and the time involved lapping is a no brainier.

  5. Says unavailable now. They seem to get a batch for big sale dates so watch when Labor Day comes. I think @sketch got a set a while back.
  6. He bought a rifle from the first weeks production, not good. The man in charge of the CNC operation there drove two hours to deliver a new rifle to him, no issues with that one. He didn’t want to do the review with all the negative issues even though the customer service was above and beyond. I don’t think I would hesitate to buy from Chris, would have if PA hadn’t put the Matrix sets on sale for $149.99.
  7. Buttonbuck bought one but I couldn’t get him to do a review.

  9. Maybe a year and a half ago when they fired up. Chris Riedeman's new company, used to sell Matrix stuff then started his own manufacture. I have not bought his 308 set yet but the 5.56 stuff is GTG.
  10. Got an address for that truck stop?
  11. Good luck, I have not gotten an in stock notification from Armalite in months, they are taking forever to make their move!
  12. That is what makes this forum the great place it is, no cut and dry "specs" on the big frame. Boils down to trouble shooting by the experts to decipher what parts are not playing well with the system. There is a wealth of knowledge here from members and in the threads. Give the guys some info like a parts list and measurements on the buffer system and odds are something will stand out right away. Welcome from Iowa, via N.C.
  13. So he uses that peace symbol like camouflage, crafty cat.
  14. It would be great to get measurements on a 10A catch, not long ago someone posted asking for a comparison between the 10A and the Sig 716 catches. I just ordered 3 more of the Sig catches now that I see how good it works in my Matrix figured I can't go wrong at $6.99 each.
  15. Nope, it pivots just fine in the Matrix receiver, just like it was made for it. So much for Sig parts being proprietary for 716's only!
  16. Added another quarter to Aero extension in hopes of causing less shock, 75 cents now and that is after cutting a notch as well. Catch had a bubble in the casting so I'm sure that didn't help.
  17. A Sig 716 catch installed in my Matrix receiver. This is going to be the one I use, gets a real nice bite on the bolt and allows the lancer mags to work fine.
  18. A generic catch from a 308 AR LPK sold by CDNN, installed in my Matrix receiver. This thing is pretty much an AR 15 catch;
  19. Here is an Armalite AR-10B catch with installed pic in my Matrix lower, this one would have needed to be thinned out a bit to work, fit in the slot but was so tight it would hang up wherever you put it;
  20. Broke the bolt catch in my Matrix build this morning so that led to comparing the three different catches I had with the broken one. It came in the LPK with the upper and lower set from what is now Live Free Armory. It never did grab as much of the bolt as I would have liked and did not function with the newer lancer mags. There was a tiny bubble in the casting where the crack started. Here are the measurements on it best I could with it being broken; If you have another variety, like an Armalite AR-10A catch, post up here.
  21. Groups moved about 1 inch low and right. Shot 4 groups of five this morning, accuracy was not up to snuff but I broke the bolt catch on the first shot and was tuning the new to this rifle SLR gas block so I lacked consistency this morning.
  22. I can use those on the the standard 51T's but I have several that have a deep socket that the Precision Armament washers won't fit in, wish they made a smaller O.D. set. I end up using the couple thicker shims from an AAC or GemTech kit then have a pile of the thinner ones left over, anyone needs some of those extra thin shims let me know.
  23. Is that a gator or a croc? with the bulbous nose it almost looks like a croc, heard they were making their way up the peninsula but didn't think they would be in your neighborhood yet.
  24. Fuk me, I gotta get a piece of this action. I do my best to limit my caliber inventory but the Grendel looks to be deserving of a slot. First I thought a 22 inch barrel would be the ticket but there just doesn't seem to be much gain over a 16 or 18, might even say fuk it and go the pistol route, an 850 yard pistol just sounds insane. @98Z5V, Brother the whole damn community owes you for all the work you do on both large and small platform! If PSA doesn't want to pay attention then let them burn up their money. You have given them the book, obviously they ate the cover and can't figure out what's in it now. Wonder if they are just buying Chinese junk or if there QC can't get it together on their own machines? @Palmetto State Armory where you at Josiah? I want to buy one of these budget rifles but still waiting for consistency............on the positive side.
