  1. I have used that tool for a Matrix and Fulton Armory uppers, both LR-308's, with excellent results. The Fulton might not count as it was very even to start, more confirmed it was square than squared it.
  2. Might find them cheaper elsewhere, that was just the handiest link.
  3. They sure don't make it easy to contact them, got a phone number from google but no love yet.
  4. Just ordered the SBA3 adjustable Sig brace for my pistol build. Came in a kit from PSA but I'll get an Armalite buffer system and save the extra parts for another AR-15 build. Figured I would need the adjustment more for locking in the brace than adjusting, my P716 would shove the brace clear onto the Phase 5 tube, even over the hex portion. This brace thing has really stretched the rules with the use of a carbine tube and being adjustable. http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-sba3-moe-ept-pistol-lower-build-kit-black-5165448657.html?trk_msg=7P4MDLJMSJO45BAHLKK4NSNU5K&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=2HDO4SREML5CVNOEAH87GMUVO0&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fpalmettostatearmory.com%2fpsa-sba3-moe-ept-pistol-lower-build-kit-black-5165448657.html&utm_campaign=Daily+Deal+Email&utm_content=12%3a00+Email
  5. That looks like the fix I need. Just wish they would specify high or low, I would assume high but then I have a drawer full of assumptions. I will have to call them.
  6. Don't use crush washers when using cans, possible to get alignment issues with them, use shims and a couple drops of Rocksett. http://www.advanced-armament.com/Shim-Kit--762mm_p_468.html
  7. You just can't make that schit up! THAT is truth!
  8. Yep, I really like those SLR tubes but have a hard time justifying the money on what amounts to an economy build.
  9. Got the document sent in, thanks for the heads up on the discount. Not sure on the handguard but it is the leading candidate so far.
  10. I'm trying to find a FF hand guard for a 308AR pistol build, DPMS high receiver style. I'm hoping for something in the 9-10 inch, really don't want a 12 as it is a 12.5 inch barrel and I want some room between the tube and the suppressor. Hoping to find one that will take a BUIS and a light so the smooth tubes won't get it. I saw one in the SLR clearence section but don't really want to pay $50 more than I did for the receiver set. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
  11. I will be trying to use a Sig 716 bolt catch in a matrix I just purchased, CDNN has them on sale cheap. It will be after the fourth before I get the chance.
  12. I'm gonna be a wise sumbitch then!
  13. Works fine using the restrictive side of the block, just not the by-pass mode which is what the big selling point is. On restrictive mode it is really no different than others on the market. Also when on bypass with a suppressor it blasts the can with a jet of hot gas, no big deal unless you worry about can finish or you run a cover on the can.
  14. Any reason given as to why? I found the bleed of function on this block to be inadequate for the 308, never could adjust far enough to not have lock back as the manufacturer instructs making it a standard restrictive style block with a super long adjustment screw.
  15. Matrix 308-AR Receiver Set $149.99 at Primary Arms; http://www.primaryarms.com/matrix-arms-ar-308-stripped-receiver-set-dpms-high-ma308-set?trk_msg=JQ5AS4JF04645CNVOVKFVEP2VO&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=FU9FFQ1SU8UO0I8TGLVVR55GTS&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=SLOT_17&utm_campaign=18_06_Ad_13_Fathers_Day_Part1
  16. I followed a build/rebarrel on the Sigtalk site and the info there stated Sig was not as proprietary as they claim, said there barrels, and bolts are DPMS pattern. Sig used Armalite thread pattern on DPMS high style upper, that seemed to be the biggest hang up. I agree one ejector should be fine. My 716 originally came with one, after sending it in with issues they added a dual ejector bolt, still has the same issue just not as regular. I will be checking this bolt for function on a DPMS pattern barrel in my Matrix build soon.
  17. Just ordered a matrix receiver set from Primary Arms, on sale again; http://www.primaryarms.com/matrix-arms-ar-308-stripped-receiver-set-dpms-high-ma308-set?trk_msg=JQ5AS4JF04645CNVOVKFVEP2VO&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=FU9FFQ1SU8UO0I8TGLVVR55GTS&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=SLOT_17&utm_campaign=18_06_Ad_13_Fathers_Day_Part1
  18. Yep, I have been very pleased with them to date.
  19. PM inbound.
  20. I used rolled stainless steel pins from an online auction site on my Matrix, don't recall there being threads for a screw. They tend to drive easier and are a bit stronger overall.
  21. 30 cents a pound for scrap brass in my neck of the woods, takes a long time to fill a 5 gallon bucket but it buys some ammo when time comes to sell it. $1.40 a pound in trade from Freedom Munitions, they get all my berdan primed stuff since they sold me that batch of crap a few years back.
  22. CDNN has dual ejector Sig bolts for sale, stripped $50, complete bolt $80. If my info is correct they are DPMS pattern, I have one at home that I recently ordered so when I get there over the fourth I will see if it will headspace and run in my Matrix build and then report back. https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-bolt-assembly.html?___SID=U#.Wx7gfkgvwyU https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-stripped-bolt-with-gas-rings.html?___SID=U#.Wx7g6kgvwyU
  23. Heard some discussion on this on a reloading podcast. They were split on whether it was a good thing or not but agreed the reason was better ignition in very cold environments. Not something you have to worry about there for sure!
  24. Bet they blame it on their volunteer moderators.
