Saw these on Gunbroker, first time I have run across this, not Armalite factory from what I can find; https://www.gunbroker.com/item/771391280

I was 46 when I went to college, biggest waste of time and money I have ever involved myself in. The only redeeming thing was the opportunity to mentor some of the youngsters and correct the propaganda being fed to them. College, and education should not be so closely associated with each other these days. Critical thinking is in very short supply these days, please continue to pick up the slack

Not stupid enough to document something like that, suffice it to say my Libertarian values guide me to ensure my actions do not directly invade others space. Short of myself, a few close friends, and family I could give a fuk who's reproach I may be above or beyond. Well bite me, I never asked anyone to do anything, simply commented that I can't buy Springfield after they were suggested as a good striker fired option, didn't say they weren't a good option just not for me. Can't justify my position to you and didn't intend it to sound like that, just an explanation when accused of being an anti's wet dream. ( See my above reproach comment, extrapolate and apply ) Obviously I have struck a nerve (thou doth protest too much), didn't mean to start schit with anyone, sorry you are not as comfortable with my choices as I am. This is not an "attitude" but a firm personal conviction. You have assigned tactics and opinions to me that I don't feel I have espoused and want to clarify were not meant, that is the reason for my spirited rebuttals. I think no more or no less of a person that chooses to buy Springfield. I started this thread to discuss the situation with the 365 specifically and Sig's penchant for releasing weapons onto the market that have not been fully wrung out yet in general. Got any thoughts on that? I am bipolar, I love Sig weapons but hate the way they roll out new stuff. I'm sure my "attitude" on that subject needs some adjusting so have at it?

So you are saying the ends justifies the means........ I personally don't subscribe to the Machiavellian philosophy, but I do like most of my Sigs.

Amen, good to the community, good to the employees, and some damn good food for the money! Everyone wins.

For me it was very sensible once I understood the tactics used, again, using my own judgment and sensibility. I understand they wanted to stay in business and don't begrudge that, the method they used to attempt to avoid the law I will begrudge. I don't want to see them out of business and never claimed such, if others want their dependable pistols I think it is an overall plus to have more weapons in the hands of citizens. I vote with my money and and my vote has been cast, my loss but I don't mind. You better believe I communicated my displeasure to Springfield and informed them they had lost a loyal customer. They never responded and I didn't really care. Anyone here had a chance to handle or shoot the 365?

Sounds like they are "walking it back" from what Fox said this morning. I imagine the industry does not want the spotlight on their violence factory games. That whole gamer situation is proof that behind the scenes it's money and it's champions that rule society, all the outrage feigned by the snowflakes is just manufactured to manipulate as long as it doesn't hurt the bottom line.

I do not know this, this is what they said and what I would fully expect they would say. I followed the events closely at the time and did not personally feel that it was unintentional due to the timing behind the hiring of the lobbyist, the payment of the money, and the results in the committee whose members received the money(combined with my prior political experiences). Do I think they learned a lesson, yes. Did it clear the bad taste from my mouth, no. I never called for anyone to join me, didn't rehash any accusations, just stated that Springfield was not an option for me. I seem to have hit a nerve with this position, sorry to all for causing discomfort.

From that perspective then I intend on leading as luxurious a life as possible!

I know how you feel, I work for the federal government and have very little respect for what it has become. On the other hand I would happily cut off my nose to spite that face and have done so in the past when it got too deep for my conscious. I will survive no matter, been there done that but don't expect anyone to follow me there. and even though I hate what Sig does to customers with their new product testing on the marketplace I will continue for now to buy their products, just after all the fanboys have had a chance to work out the bugs!
-
Best I can, I apply it, I am a stubborn, opinionated, unforgiving arse. You would get tired before you finished reading a list of all the products I don't buy and the services I don't use, very few in the firearms sector comparatively. Regretfully there are many areas that are so monopolized that I have no option but to hold my nose. As a libertarian I would never deny the right to spend one's money as one sees fit, but I will practice my free speech to explain why I don't participate with some.
-
They should be embarrassed, they abandoned the firearms community and paid off politicians to get cut out of a new proposed law instead of spending that money to lobby against the law, which eventually failed anyway! They brought it on themselves, they just never thought what they did would go public. I don't expect anyone to follow me on it, just choose not to spend my money there. Haven't bought a ruger since bill made the ten rounds comment while the clinton ban was being debated, plenty of other true 2A supporters out there to buy from, doubt I am hurting anyones bottom line but I feel better about it.

Springfield's politics prevent me from buying anymore of their pistols........

Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina!

I’ve been watching this since the release. They stopped production early on and claimed to have fixed the pistol. Then watched as thread after thread on striker drag, broken striker, and reset failure poured in on the SIG forum. Cohen has managed to trash what was a stellar reputation, sad to see. I imagine they will get it sorted eventually, then I may just buy my first striker fired pistol.

It appears Sig has decided to continue to use its loyal customers as beta testers;

What the fuk is going on! It wasn't home made but I just finished a dinner of beer battered cod and peas. We may differ on some issues but obviously food isn't one of them

Wife found me some Haggar cargo shorts that work well for me, they are pretty lightweight but have some elastic hidden in the waistband that gives extra support for the weight of pistol and mags. The style is loose enough you don't notice the 938 in my pocket. http://www.haggar.com/stretch-cargo-short/regular-fit-flat-front-expandable-waistband/HS00413.html?dwvar_HS00413_color=232&lang=default&cgid=shorts#prefn1=productCollection&prefv1=Premium+No+Iron+Khaki|Stretch+Comfort+Cargo&lang=default&alt=2&start=1

I use a similar holster and mag holder, Remora, and it works great inside the pocket. The mag holder stays put just tucking it under my underwear waistband when I'm wearing overalls. https://www.remoraholsterstore.com/product/remora-iwb-inside-waistband-holster/

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

12.5 inch Sig 308 barrel with matching bolt, on sale at CDNN for under $160, $79.99 each. If my information is correct these are DPMS pattern and will work in other DPMS uppers despite the proprietary claims of Sig. If I can get a functioning 308 pistol from these parts then the 716 may get a new home. https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-12-5in-308-chrome-lined-barrel.html?___SID=U#.Wwwqu0gvwyU https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-bolt-assembly.html?___SID=U#.Wwwq10gvwyU Also picked up a gas valve for my 716 pistol so I can experiment with gas port sizes and try to get it running right. They use the same gas valve in the pistol as their rifles so I'm thinking the port sizes need adjusting to compensate for the short barrel. -
Here are some other parts of this "almost exact" system that would "pretty much nullify our NFA", along with many of my firearms rights as they stand now, correct me if I am wrong. Gun licenses are issued at the discretion of the police. There must be a good reason and self defense is not included in those reasons. You must also meet their arbitrary storage requirements. And then there is a convoluted category system; A standard firearms licence allows the use of "A Category" firearms. To possess firearms of another category a person is required to get an endorsement to their licence. There are different endorsements for different classes of firearm but they all require a higher level of storage security, stricter vetting requirements and the applicant must have an end use for wanting the endorsement. Be it pest control for E cat, cowboy shooting and 3-gun for B cat, or just wanting to collect (provided one has adequate storage security) for C cat. Each endorsement type has additional requirements B Endorsement – Target (competition) pistols Applicant must be a current financial member of a pistol club, a financial member of Pistol New Zealand (or in some cases membership of an approved club) and have attended at least 12 club shoots in the last 6 months before they can apply Applicant must be sponsored by their club The endorsement holder must attend at least 12 club activities (either at their home club or to another recognised club) in a financial year Normally limited to no more than 12 pistols registered to their licence Pistols must be of an approved sporting type i.e. barrel length of more than 10 cm (3.9 in) Pistols can only be carried to and from the range in a locked container with ammunition in a separate container or to a gunsmith Pistols may only be shot on a Police approved pistol club range. C Endorsement – Restricted weapons Pistols can also be held on the C endorsement instead of the B. Common special reasons include: Collecting (must provide evidence in the form of books, club membership, collection of A type firearms), Museum curator, Family heirlooms and Theatrical. C category firearms must be stored in an inoperable condition Can never be used with live ammunition, but blanks are allowed for movie making and re-enacting Can only be taken to an approved display venue, re-enactment event or to another collector for sale. D Licence – Dealers licence For those that make an income from firearms. To sell restricted weapons the dealer also needs to have the appropriate endorsements. Renewed annually Further security requirements Must maintain a record (usually a book or register) of firearm purchases and sales. E Endorsement – Military-style semi-automatics New class of restricted weapon that was created after the Aramoana shooting spree. At the time anyone with an MSSA that wanted to keep it in that configuration was given a E endorsement (after going through the vetting and extra security requirements). But presently few are issued. Common reasons for wanting an E endorsement are professional pest destruction, collecting, 3-gun and service rifle shooting. Those people that did not want the extra hassle and expense of the endorsement converted their rifles into 'A' configuration by removing the components that made it an 'E'. F Endorsement – Dealers staff licence This class allows a person working for a dealer to demonstrate a pistol, military-style semi-automatic or a collectable weapon without having to have that class of licence. They can demonstrate one but not possess one for personal use. This is not a well known endorsement Licences are issued at the discretion of the police. The possession of firearms is considered a privilege, rather than a right.[4][5] To be granted a licence, the applicant must: Be 16 or older; Be a "fit and proper person" to possess and use firearms; Attend a safety lecture given by a volunteer from the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council; Pass a written test based on the material in the Arms Code,[6] a booklet compiled jointly by the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council and the Police; Have a police officer inspect the security at the applicant's home (a gun rack, safe, strongroom or "receptacle of stout construction" is required); Undergo an interview with a police officer; Provide two referees, one a relative and one not, to vouch for the applicant; Pay NZ$126.50 at a local PostShop.[7] Licences are issued for a period of 10 years. Under certain circumstances, a licence may carry endorsements to allow the possession and use of other types of weapons, as follows: Endorsement Use B Allows the holder to possess and use pistols. Granted only to bona fide members of pistol clubs. Weapons held under a "B" endorsement may only be fired at an approved pistol range, and are subject to strict controls on carriage away from the owner's home. C Allows the holder to possess and use pistols and restricted weapons. Granted only to bona fide collectors, to people for whom a particular weapon has a special significance (e.g. as an heirloom), to museum curators, and to theatre, film and TV production armourers. Weapons held under a "C" endorsement may not be fired with live ammunition, though blanks may be fired for film, TV and theatre purposes. E Allows the holder to possess and use MSSAs. Granted only to applicants showing a genuine reason for needing to use an MSSA - such as professional hunting, or participation in service-rifle or IPSC 3-gun competitions. D, F Special endorsements for firearms dealers. Endorsements are granted only after further police vetting, and a higher standard of firearm storage security is required. Each application for an endorsement costs NZ$200.[7] Weapons other than sporting-configuration rifles and shotguns must be individually registered, and transfer of possession is subject to prior approval by the police. It appears to me that firearms in New Zealand are largely a rich man's hobby at the level most of us here participate. For me the kicker is self defense not being a valid reason, I see the right to self defense as a God given right, not something an overbearing government can take from me. I understand how this system could look inviting if you did not have the 2nd in the first place, it would be a huge step backwards for us and I believe a sin as God expects me to defend myself and my family. I do not see myself as paranoid, I simply judge things by what I have experienced. I have experienced first hand government oppression, government lies, and a government that changes laws to suit its agenda and not its people. Call me a tinfoil hatter, I could care less, I honestly hope to never have to say told you so. And yes Tom, I realize this is not what the article you reference proposes but it is a look at where it could go.
