  1. WINNING!
  2. I went with a regular AAC flash hider but the rest of those specs are what I have. Everyone that shoots it gets a big grin, reliable, accurate, and very quiet!
  3. A different mag and loading one round at a time to insure the bolt is locking back like that would be a good first step. A picture of the jam may be helpful.
  4. If you heat it I would try something like a blow dryer, shouldn't be able to get too hot like that. SS has the best idea, try just freezing the barrel first, should be enough with that measurement.
  5. P-TAC = Palmetto State Armory, He has the infamous Gen 1.
  6. Might be worth warming up the receiver and freezing the barrel then give it a try, not to warm on the receiver though. Do you have measurements on the parts?
  7. Welcome from Iowa!

  9. ^THAT is what the second is for! LIBERTY FIRST!
  10. Different BCG makers have different systems, Armalite uses a spring with a plug and a doughnut, some use nested springs and I have seen a single spring. Your mileage may vary.
  11. Welcome from Iowa!
  12. Sometimes a fresh start is all that's needed, I bought a dozen extra detents and springs with the tools just to avoid the frustration of looking for the wild ones,
  13. I have used a drill bit that fit.
  14. Maybe take it apart, clean and inspect for burrs.
  15. I had a similar issue with a build, swapped the extractor spring for an Armalite extractor spring set and haven't had a problem since. Others with the same issue have had a new ejector spring cure the problem. I'm betting Chris will have a good idea what you need.
  16. Have you called Chris at LFA? I know they have had some issues with suppliers parts of late and have taken good care of the customers when they were made aware of the problem.

  19. I swear I work for these guys! Bob and Ray Ray and Bob, two Government mechanical engineers, were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole", said Bob, "But we don't have a ladder." The woman said, "Hand me that wrench out of your toolbox." She loosened a few bolts, then laid the pole down. She then took a tape measure from their toolbox, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches" and walked away. Ray shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a 'Miss-know-it-all' woman?" he said. "We need the height and she gave us the length!" Bob and Ray are still working for the Government. DISCLAIMER: The above statement is my personal opinion and in no way reflects the policy of the DOT
  20. Regretfully I don't remember his name, I'm terrible with names and in those days, 2004-5 I was managing 3-4 jobs in 3-4 different states at one time and only dealt with him a couple times when issues arose with the plans. I do remember his inspector there, Dan Bias. He left TexDot and went into the oil business about 2011 or so. Everyone there was great to work with. Had good experiences with the guys at the Amarillo district, Lubbock district, and the Midlands-odessa district. Not such a great experience working in Taylor and Victoria, The Victoria engineer got caught picking up a hooker in his state car and the inspector would be so drunk by afternoon you couldn't understand him. If I ever have to leave Iowa somewhere north of Amarillo will be home.
  21. Second stamp came back today 9 months and 2 weeks on this one so I should get the third by mid April if the timeline holds. Got a threaded barrel in the MK25 last week and have 1,000 rounds of 147 gr Speer Lawman waiting for that third stamp.
  22. My buddies over at X-caliber will make you one, any twist, gas system, length you want.......just don't ask about port size http://x-caliber.net.revlis.arvixevps.com/custom-ar-barrel
  23. I will always remember the TexDot engineer in Childress telling me we were going to do a verbal change order on a handshake because we didn't need the Austin fruit basket involved. Worked out good for me and the taxpayers with nothing but common sense applied!
  24. Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola! That's Gods country out there for sure! I have a nephew that ranches out near Alliance.
  25. I have to agree, my time in north west NC was very enjoyable, looks like I'll be back in the neighborhood soon. Can't wait to get back to that 300 yard IBR range.
