  1. Wonder what the stories they told their friends later sounded like........
  2. I spent a bit of time drooling when I got that email yesterday Make it not so proprietary and make it in 260 Rem. and I might not be able to help myself.I noticed they didn't list a price anywhere.....
  3. Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina! Let us know how it shoots.
  4. I would be really surprised if it is boxer primed, all the European ball surplus I have gotten has been berdan primed. I have attempted reloading it but it just isn't worth the hassle.

  6. Here the link; http://www.advanced-armament.com/Fixed-barrel-adapter-58-24-for-all-Ti-RANT-45-series_p_719.html can't seem to find any db comparisons between this setup and the SDN-6 but I have one on order at the LGS.
  7. This is an "outdated" model but does everything and more I need for $100+ less. Big differences with newer model was the number of data points stored, 2,000 versus 5,000, and the Bluetooth connectivity with idevices is there versus just android stuff on this one. There might be some new program that fixes that though. Odds are I won't get much shooting advantage with it till I get that 50BMG in the arsenal, been waiting for a certain new company to get off the ground for one of those
  8. Bit the bullet and bought a Kestrel. I needed something that can be certified for use at work but no doubt I will be combining it with the Strelok app when I get a chance to do some long range stuff. http://www.larue.com/kestrel-meter-4000nv-weather-meter

    Good Quotes

    "The only purpose for a pistol is to fight your way back to the rifle you should have never laid down " Clint Smith
  12. In my limited experience it took ten times more mental effort to slide down the rope than to jump out the door and wait to see the canopy. I would consider a parachute jump again, no way am I sliding down that rope again!
  13. I should have my standard TiRant in under a month, got the barrel tested in the MK25 already. Ron, did you see AAC is selling a piston for both models that allow direct thread to 300 BO? For subsonic only but that M model would make for a real compact rig!
  14. Looks to be on the short side.
  15. Master of the insult, RIP Mr. Warmth.

  18. Looks about average for NATO ball. I have had the best results from Radway Green and some FN.

  20. The nub on my piston 716 is way too far back to do any type of guiding, once the handle is past the operating rod there is nothing there to guide it but the tabs and tolerances. That said most piston gun charging handles have a deeper drop on the front than standard charging handles. I've seen a BCM modified for a 716 and they had to add about a 1/16 of an inch to get it to engage the carrier, major amount of machine work to make it function.
  21. Makes me wonder if they recently changed something? Do the measurements match those I posted in the beginning of the thread or are they closer to the 10 rounders that I got recently? I've shot lots of M118 LR out of my earlier L7 without issue. You may want to contact Lancer, they were very accommodating for me.
  22. Better double check that, Vortex will warranty anything as long as they can still tell what vortex model it is. I know they have covered scopes that were burned up in fires. Now Bushnell claims to match that on their Elite series.
  23. Had to grab this little stone box when I saw it, came from a Colt sales reps estate. I'm not a huge Colt fan but it is AR history;
  24. Safety first! I used to love the the initial safety brief when you went to a new assignment in the Army, they would always go over the places that were off limits. Never guess where I headed first, saved me lots of trial and error looking for the fun!
  25. When I ran crews on construction projects we held the "safety meeting " in the motel after work, I brought the beer , it was BYOJ for the smokers. They were usually very productive meetings .
