  1. The old OD jungle fatigues we wore seemed to work just fine wherever we went.... apply a little "local color" by by rolling around a bit, some sweat, maybe a little blood and you blended right in. <dontknow>
  2. I'll vouch for the coyotes, you can kill a dozen and they'll still get that newborn calf........... but that's all the vouching I can do here, maybe Gibbs can have his "photography associate" document a group for you 98???? I've got some family in north central Nebraska, those sandhills are lonely country...............
  3. Damn Gibbs, quit digging. The hole is deep enough, just throw your "photography associate" in it and walk away. ....what the hell is a photography associate <dontknow> ........
  4. My AR-10 takes chunks out of the soft points on 180 grain Winchester power points but has no function issues, just have to clean out the pieces.
  5. I recently saw a left side brown handguard sell for over $300, the whole rifle should bring a bit at that rate!
  6. Ask if he is a Mid-West Tool Collectors member, if he is I'm betting we have some common acquaintances.
  7. Besides collecting up as much empty brass as I can make I have a collection of several hundred early American made hand saws. I recently snagged a rare panther saw on e-bay for $40 on a buy-it-now, it's worth $800-$1,200 but like my guns, I'd never sell it. Anyone ever have any questions on antique tools feel free to ask.
  8. I love the actual work, witnessing the waste firsthand can be very demoralizing at times though. From what I've seen so far those "good people" are few and far between. Wish I could elaborate without losing the job but big brother is always watching :bat: I need something to dampen my harmonics...........have to keep those groups tight.
  9. Hey now! Not all government employees need be tuning material................. I just needed a job, I don't claim to like it, :rant2:
  10. They should have just drank the whole glass of Kool-aide and called it a MSR :rant2:
  11. Just noticed Armalite has a new line of rifles, the 308 entry; http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=DEF10&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=c4bf2a5c-d77d-4f58-8022-95f6afe8e6cf I notice a couple differences besides the AR-10 trademark missing, a single stage trigger and melonite for a barrel treatment. I guess the $999 MSRP is a big change as well.............wonder what else was messed with? ???
  12. Expert ? He should have been shown the door :gtfo2: I was going to comment about the poor fact checking for the piece but I'd forgot......the truth no longer matters in America :(
  13. Exactly! It doesn't fit the narrative so it hits the cutting room floor.
  14. When I was a kid Brownell's sold these rubber ball looking things that you slid onto the barrel and then adjusted the location to "tune" the harmonics. I was pretty sure it was a gimmick but after researching the ladder system for tuning reloads for a rifle I might be swayed. The barrel moves up and down during the vibration, the idea is to get the bullet to exit the muzzle at the top or bottom of the wave where it sits still the longest. Here is some reading on it; https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1SFXN_enUS501US504&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=reloading%20ladder%20method
  15. I figured out why RECOIL magazine had the cameo appearance in the video, Matt Best is featured in the latest issue. I liked his comedy before but now that I know he is a brother Ranger I'll follow him even closer. Rangers Lead The Way <thumbsup>
  16. I was lucky enough to grab a Winchester P17 from WWI at a local auction some years back. It is a heavy beast but hits where aimed. Still prefer my AR-10 <thumbsup>
  17. JUST SAY NO! I'd shake Jane-the traitor-Fonda's hand before I even look at cheaper than dirt. :thefinger: :fawkdance:
  18. Caught it on sale for $70
  19. <laughs> <lmao> <laughs> <lmao>
  20. You are on to something, ArmaLite recommends a brass brush and says not to use a synthetic. They don't explain but they seem to know what they speak of most often.
  21. Trim, what's that???? I just chew it off when it gets in my mouth ^_^
  22. Wish I could shake the mans hand :hail: <lmao> <laughs>
  23. I've shaved once since 1989, for grandma's funeral, and RECOIL is one of my favorite reads.... does that mean I'm a man???????
  24. It wasn't that many years ago when I told people I was once a Ranger they would ask what park I worked in. <dontknow> ....times do change.
