  1. Yep, many will say you shouldn't leave a weapon unattended in a vehicle, I call bull, no way is it safer to be without just because somebody MIGHT steal or break into your vehicle. This topic tied right back to LEO's and all they do. In about 2014 I got pulled over speeding on the way home in NE Missouri. As the Trooper was looking at my documents he was asking the standard questions, came to do you have any weapons in the car? I had my AR-10, a PM400(AR Pistol), and a 226. Next question was barrel length on the PM400 ? I'm thinking crap am I doing something wrong in Missouri, I answer and he asks if he can see it, he's been thinking about ordering one but was wanting to handle it first. So there we are, bags and gun cases stacked behind my car on the shoulder of the interstate while he adjusts the sling and throws it to his shoulder a few times. He helped me pack the car back up and thanked me, I thanked him for the verbal warning and promised I would do a better job watching my speed, from then on when running the avenue of the saints in northern Missouri I never set the cruse more than 8 over.
  2. Dystopian has taken on new meaning these days. I’m in a hospital waiting room listening to Ted Nugent Free For All, a record that as a kid I was supposed to bring to a church event so they could burn the evil stuff. The Puppy Bowl on a Sunday afternoon was hosted by a convicted felon and a dope promoting pornographer. Dystopian........
  3. This whole blackouts in the middle of a cold snap thing has me thinking my next prep needs to be an independent heat source for the house. Everyone here was burning wood in the 70's, made good money on it and it was always part of everyday chores on the farm, god I a hated hauling and stacking wood............ but it's free, kinda. @Armed Eye Doc They told us Texas was at fault for our outage this morning, makes perfect sense a "problem" in Texas over a thousand miles from where I live should cause my power to go out on the coldest morning of the winter. We're number two in wind power production and use percentage to ya'll there in Texas, IF the wind was blowing here we would have sent you some wind power.
  4. Here is one set up that always works; https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=AR10REKIT01&ReturnURL=/Armalite/Product-Category/AR10-Parts-Accessories/Lower-Receiver-Parts&Category=ac614400-ff09-4cdf-9d35-419a654e7201
  5. Had perfect range conditions this morning, -26 at 0630. Just getting ready to head out and they hit us with one of those rolling blackouts, no damn announcement so I gotta treat it like it might not be back soon and start organizing to keep pipes from freezing and making sure Mom was good. I find it puzzling, record increases in the power bill over the last decade, that money went for wind power and decommissioning Hydro and nuke power. The coldest mornings tend to not have much wind.............. but rolling blackouts are a good solution short of actually reinvesting in the infrastructure.
  6. Nope, that bottle just screams special occasion and the holidays just didn't provide the opportunity, could be I'll have to make up a special occasion soon
  7. New Belgium 1554, part of the Belgian series from that Colorado company. I don't think I ever drank a beer in Belgium but this sure reminds me of some brews they served us in Luxembourg. Has some spice on the nose with a hint of booze. For sure some spices in this stuff, allspice maybe, has a clean fresh tasting base like a new blonde ale( @RsquaredI swear there is some Miller High life in there) A nice clean dry finish with just the faintest bit of clove like astringent that lingers.
  8. Ran into something like that on a Fulton Armory 308 build I did a few years back for a brother-in-law, just took me a while to remember where I saw it. From the FA web site; https://www.fulton-armory.com/bolt-catch-screw-and-plate-for-far-308.aspx
  9. Post up all the info gone over in this thread below. It will help with your issue now and it pays to know what you have with all the variables in these large frame AR's.

  12. -5 is the forecast high for us this Sunday, -23 for the low. We've really had a pretty mild winter on the temps.
  13. $610 bucks and climbing; https://www.ebay.com/itm/A-hard-to-find-rare-breed-of-trigger-assembly/383940902716 I tried to sell some PSA triggers for cheap and they yanked in a day..........
  14. OFYMD Imperial Stout w/ Pineapple and Coconut, produced and bottled for Eviltwin by Westbrook Brewing Co. Mount Pleasant, SC. Inky black with the aroma of dried prunes. Has a bit of that wild cherry syrup thing going on up front, the tart from the pineapple keeps the sweet short, that tart fades to a smoky bitter near the finish but the bitter fades fast to leave a hint of coconut and malt. Complex, I'll grab another if I see it.

  24. I hit them with a hand held cordless and a 1/4 inch dowel in the bore to stop the bit from bottoming out.
  25. AAC SDN-6 is the extent of my experience but it’s all been a good experience. The 51T muzzle devices come in several configurations, they have a pretty respectable brake and comp.
