  1. Not at all Brother, if a picture could transmit the feel of this knife in the hand you would be ordering them in the thousands, your eyes make you skeptical at first look but roll it around in your hand a bit and it's a fit. You can't beat a good fixed blade edc, but you can beat one
  2. Got my AdventureCraft from Exodus Knife & Tool, short of shave some hairs I haven't done anything but handle it some, it's already obvious @beachmaster has a winner here The carry size is perfect for me, fits my pliers pocket just right with the sheath keeping it easy to grab the handle. The handle is small but doesn't feel thin in the hand, has enough meat to get good control for fine stuff, comfortable to choke up on it. Comes with a very nice sheath, good positive retention but not to hard your thumb can't pop it off. At 3.3 ounces with the sheath it carries like a feather, can't be a drop of wasted material in it. The wood box gives it a real deluxe presentation, that collectors panache, I'm torn, put it on the shelf and admire it alongside some other prizes or take a hint from the serial number and carry it 365, could compromise and keep it in the go bag for the car, it would be at the ready 365 anyway. Put a pic of it next to my present edc, ESSEE Izula first version, for scale. The web page; https://www.exodusknifeandtool.com/adventurecraft
  3. and he never asked.........
  4. Not first hand, they have not been spoken of in a positive light the last time or two I read something here but I have no first hand knowledge. At one point they were hanging around here but that's been awhile, now we have this; https://forum.308ar.com/forum/143-moriarti-armaments-terminated/
  5. That and the proliferation of calibers for the AR-15 that close the gap with the .308 does make these hybrids much less appealing. If you can get the oomph from a lighter, better standardized platform why bother. It's always interesting to find out what parts are truly proprietary, Sig called their bolt for the 716 proprietary but it is running ammo out of a DPMS based barrel under direct impingement instead of the piston system it comes from....... I guess it didn't come from just the 716 then, wonder what ruger did?
  6. Look at this way, you're only a few parts shy of another rifle and with the new experience the odds of getting the correct parts are good, before you know it you'll be rounding that .3 up for another one!
  7. Most I don't bother anymore, at this price I gotta give it everything the maker says so I can complain if it doesn't automatically shoot tight groups....... could have built a whole rifle for that barrel, I'll forget all about that if the groups are tiny.
  8. Nope, sorry but it's sitting in the que for barrel break-in, October the bugs go away and I can comfortably hang out, take my time, and do it right. Optic is being watched for, I know some of what I'm looking for, not in a real hurry as I can swap something to it for now to get it broke in, I need a good black friday deal.
  9. Like all of us you just want the most bang for your buck. The search function here is your friend in this endeavor for sure Make yourself a parts list and post it up, we love to help people spend their money and chances are if you have a conflict on the list someone here will catch it. Take your time, really dial in what you expect from the rifle before even looking at parts. I would be very leery of anything that called itself a comprehensive list of parts compatibility, they would most likely call them all AR-10 parts
  10. Your in it! If someone was so inclined the information on this board is about as comprehensive on parts as you could find, I've followed along for years and still stumble on different stuff, new manufacturers all the time adding their spin.
  11. These were all bargain priced parts but mostly good parts, none matching, even mismatched the receivers. Best I can recall the first part I bought for this build was the Giessele NM trigger, it wasn't exactly for this build like I had a plan it was just stupid cheap on a christmas 2018 sale, If I searched hard enough I most likely posted it in the things on order thread like a bunch of these parts. It became a 260 Rem when Wilson Combat put a fluted 24 inch rifle gas barrel in the half off bin, I think I posted the gas port size here when I got it, and yes it very much longer than it really needs to be, longer than I really want, but in the 50% clearance bin so now I have a 24 inch barrel AR. The BCG is a christmas time Brownells special, their chromed BCG I bought on the same sale would not head space, no go on the go gauge and stupid tight on a loaded round, this one is super tight on the go gauge, you gotta ease that gauge just right to get her to go, expect I could have some tight chamber issues but then it is a WC so I knew that going in, they make them tight. The high rise upper was $50 at CDNN way back when they first got them, I'll buy more at that, tolerances are super tight and the high rise still leaves this break in scope to low for me. The lapping tool needed fresh oil to slide in and it was a waste of time, the mating surface went clean instantly and evenly, I had to file just a bit on the pivot pin ear corners as it drug just a hair on the lower as you opened it, it locks up tight with the blem Aero lower aside from a fine gap at the radius, tight on top. The Odin Works rail was super cheap last year, like $80, cheaper than I could find a plain tube for, it's the low version witch doesn't matter here, combine that with the outdated keymod, a dusty bent up box and they thought they were never gonna sell it. The tight tolerance on the upper made the install easy. It has that goofy two part barrel nut system that gave me fits lining up on a Grendel build, I had issues when I tried to mock this one up, couldn't get the alignment pin in the hole, turns out the pin was bent, the one from my other Odin rail just barely fit, held that first nut in place solid while I cranked in 35 then 45ftlbs. Lined up perfect, figures since I didn't need the rail to line up. The Seekins gas block was "on sale" but ten bucks more than the one I bought last year, just bought it labor day, the last part. The stock is from AB Arms, had it on a Grendle build and didn't like it there, why it feels better here I don't know, it was on sale but not exactly cheap, on this build the cheek riser is just slightly touched by the charging handle and I'm about right on this scope, final optic choice could change this I guess. The Aero lower parts kit was on sale when I got the lower years ago. It has a fancy castle nut set up from Fortis I think, got a box of them cheap, otherwise it's an Armalite carbine recoil kit, it wasn't on sale but the last of the batch I bought when they were $55 so it feels like a deal As it sits with the suppressor the scale says almost 14 1/2 pounds, most likely the final optic choice will add a bit, light, sling, and some ammo and 16 pounds won't be out of reach, but nothing I can see with my naked eyes around here should be out of reach if I learn to use it, and if it runs...... I'm thinking her name will be Stretch, she just looks stretched out.
  12. Nice looking veggies, that's how I want my tomatoes to look when I cut them open For no more than I planted we ate a bunch but it was a slow season start so I'm sure most of the tomatoes I'm looking at will still be green at first frost, tried a couple heirlooms with longer days to fruit, might need to put more effort into helping them get going next time.
  13. Exodus Knife & Tool AdventureCraft, schit finally lined up and I was able to get one of Jacob's knives in a cart and pay for it. Pretty sure I got the last one from this batch but as fast as they sell I'm betting there will be more. Made by White River Knives of CPM S35VN Stainless so actually pretty competitive pricing when looking at comparable. https://www.exodusknifeandtool.com/product-page/adventurecraft-black-canvas-micarta
  14. Just got a brand I hadn't seen before from Primary Arms, a tad deep. I haven't turned it into a receiver yet so can't comment on fit but finish looks good. It's mil spec size for the stock. https://www.primaryarms.com/triarc-systems-a5-extended-receiver-extension pretty pictures here; https://www.triarcsystems.com/product/triarc-systems-a5-extended-receiver-extension/
  15. We actually have a shoe cobbler's shop now after what must have been 30 years, we have our immigrant community top thank for that, nice to have someone around for leather repair .........
  16. "police believe all those involved in the incident are accounted for." About all they can do these days, account for all the bodies and bullets, sure ain't gonna be there to stop anything, sad someone died but good lessons to be learned.
  17. I've yet to have an issue, seems to just disappear as soon as the magnification starts getting turned up.

About 4 inches of meat and an inch plus of bone exposed on an end, most are in pairs yet. I really should try the fatter ones with some low and slow smoke.

I got a pile of them in the freezer, got me thinking there. Funny schit, split a cow four ways and I got all the short ribs, they all shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't have a clue what to do with them! I got all the shanks, oxtail and soup bone as well, feel like I'm obligated to pass out some soup this winter but then they might want their full cut next time
  20. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2022/09/06/ruger-small-frame-autoloading-rifle/ Says they will be in stores soon, wonder if they will ship with 20 round mags...........

That right there is what I like about it, shaved ham and roast beef for sandwiches other goodies the wife makes, been trying to eat meat for snacks instead of sweets.
  22. Not ideal for sure, put a chunk of tape(like a feeler gauge) on it and see how close it is.

Since I got ahold of an electric meat slicer I've been doing a few different seasonings on them, garlic is everyone's favorite. Sucks cleaning the slicer but my knife skills just can't get the thin.
