Not a GII, by the picture I think you called it, DPMS low.

Barrel, bolt, trigger, and scope is where to spend your money. I'd squeeze a little out of the budget from something not on that list and add it to the scope fund. I've got a couple scopes that just punch paper without illumination but for a hunt I would want it.

.358 Win / .308 headspacing match mismatch ?
jtallen83 replied to BeeKay's topic in Building a .308AR
Same gauges, so yes. I'm not sure what your "matching" but if it heaspaces good then shoot it, as a rule I try to keep a barrel and bolt together once they are broke in but if the tolerances are correct no reason you can't do it. -
Keep an eye on the ejector and pathway, I had one gall up and jam inside, the NiB had flaked at the edges, must have been 5-600 rounds into its life.

Properly applied that AZ lube performed in -20's. It only needs a very fine film, warming things a bit helps get it spread. I used it in a 1,000 round test for 300 BO suppressed, made it without cleaning but if I remember correctly it took a couple rounds to loosen up in the below zero after the round count got up there, keep in mind it had had lube added so there was piles of lube and carbon stuck all over, it didn't freeze up like I saw with the lubes as a kid. I was amazed something so thick to start with would work in the cold but it does.

Par for the course, they don't return calls either.

The Lee factory crimp die solved that for me as well, so much easier to set up and use.

Maybe if they came up with some kind of licensing scheme, let the atf vet the buyer and give him a license to purchase, maybe that will satisfy them.................(sarcasm) They charged my LGS owner with 18 felonies for filling out their paperwork wrong. They decided his intensions AFTER they had been approving this same paperwork for over 4 years, they read and signed off on it, even denied one, then came back years later and indicted, they don't need new forms to bully us out of our guns, they already gained the inches needed.

ATF Closes My FFL for the Day?
jtallen83 replied to jtallen83's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
18 counts, I won't be surprised if the state piles on as machineguns are highly restricted in Iowa, might not be as strong as the feds think, took a good long time to file the charges. I was guessing he decided to write his own sample letters being a Chief and a manufacturer, can't tell for sure but the false statements thing follows that line, figures he would push it, 90(+10 for Williams) machineguns for a town of 800 . I will be shocked if he hadn't run this past an attorney beforehand, they advertised the first machinegun shoot in the newspaper summer 2018 if I remember correctly, I was always on the road when they hit. Not sure how he has the business set up but they are still rolling, if he loses the case it will be the first time of many attempts on governments part, I'm not counting him out yet. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/dec/15/iowa-police-chief-bradley-wendt-charged-unlawfully/ Just read the indictment, they used a grand jury, it's all about the the requests letters and how the law works there. They knew what he was doing, they turned him down on his application for a mini-gun in 2021 https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdia/press-release/file/1558036/download -
Sig made that change in their 716 to help ejection, It was light in the buffer end. Most large frames will leave some sort of dent on the brass, tuning with an adjustable gas block helps but running the gas on the light end risks malfunctions, I put a thick chunk of rubber grip tape on the shell deflector to help with the dents.

They sued themselves over selling arms, went through a cut-out but they still got hammered, removing headstamps was supposed to help with deniability, judging how fast it was ID'd here it wasn't a successful program.
-
Give it a try with standard buffers first, I never had a reason to change out the regular H buffer in mine, 10.5in barrel. It pretty much runs suppressed all the time, functions fine with supersonics.

My CAT broke while gouging out some carbon, I rarely if ever clean a rifle so it was a hard pile, I don't think I can break the BONE.

The Germans trying to look generic so the African body count doesn't get back to them.

Gonna need info and pictures, here is a thread that lays out the info that is needed to fix your gun. Drop this info here and somebody will get you going.

Welcome from Iowa! Spent a bit over year working in Mississippi, has to be one of if not the most gun friendly states in the union, only place I have ever seen tax free days on guns and ammo, putting their money where their mouth is

Same here, if you find an old truck with no rust here it's from Arizona!

More than knew. The McCollum memo, dated 14 months prior, they don't put that in history books or give it a day..... wonder why?

I've used a needle file to cut a notch so I could get that one more turn, still had to add a quarter to get the distance the bolt travels before engaging the catch down some, keeps it from slamming too hard on it.
