  1. Didn't have any intention of another low reciprocating mass build but saw this for $90 and figured it's supposed to happen. Sexy little chunk of steel, very svelte at 8.4 oz complete.
  2. It's a wonder my rifles run at all then. Look at the weight of the carrier, that "test" grew up around the little brother and is much more an indicator than a diagnostic test. Hell there are BCG makers that have purposely left that part of the system loose as part of their gas timing "fix" and charged more for doing it. Again you say "luck", what do you mean, failures due to the gas ring or just not "passing the test"? Real world now, not what you think might happen.
  3. Please explain how you can have or not have luck with either? Promise that has nothing to do with your issue.
  4. Welcome from Iowa!
  5. You'll find info here on their use with the 308AR here, if you can get it to function like the instructions say on the by-pass mode let me know, you will be a first to make it happen I have heard of.
  6. Can or not I've never gotten them to function a rifle.
  7. I can relate, hard for me to buy components when I can get something loaded for about the same.... but I really do need to pile some up, keep waiting to see if the new American maker will have an effect or is it just a runaway train.
  8. Where does your carrier stop? Does it contact the ears on the lower receiver there, does it clear the bolt catch and by how much? That's what I would be looking for. I have used tubes like that but there are variations among makers. I've had to add quarters in the bottom of the tube and file notches deeper on occasion.
  9. Welcome from Iowa! You can bandaide that system up with an adjustable gas block and maybe changing port size, hard to know for sure without more info. There is also more of a break-in with these large frames, more surface area to mate, small gas leaks that will seal up with rounds, BUT it will be a much more reliable rifle with the proper spring and buffer weight, years here reading along as people throw money at this issue, myself included, shows me just starting out with the correct stuff is simplest and least expensive. Now I promise the CS at Aero will argue all day long on that...... or just tell you to get a rifle buffer system....which coincidently has the correct weight buffer.
  10. Better jump fast...... and HIGH! https://www.targetsportsusa.com/cci-small-rifle-5-56mm-nato-spec-military-primers-41-case-of-5000-cci1-p-112112.aspx https://www.targetsportsusa.com/cci-small-rifle-primers-400-case-of-5000-cci13-p-112015.aspx https://www.targetsportsusa.com/federal-premium-gold-medal-small-rifle-match-primers-205m-case-of-5000-gm205m-p-112134.aspx
  11. Please don't put any gooey stuff in there, it needs rounds to seal it with carbon, that's why you don't see any fancy seals in the gas system, the carbon will do it.

  13. I got in on some fiberglass fabrication for a winter once, guy was trying to make sidecars and trailers for bikes, good skill to have for sure......... but doubt I'd volunteer to help though
  14. I put a patch of heavy textured grip tape on my shell deflector, seems to help.
  15. I thought I scored an AR24 when I found this site, if you ever get any indication there are real people involved let me know, I have never been able to get a response.
  16. I would say that not based on my own experience but based on the number of times Delta Tactical comes up when new people show up with rifles that don't work.
  17. Consistently takes better than $200 to get one at auction, bid accordingly.
  18. Not me..... again.

  20. Like in tearing up the bullet, that would be easy to figure out anyway.
  21. Now I wanna see one.
  22. I had a gas block that was just barely touching the rail when fired, that gave me some erratic groups until I found it.
  23. Hey get in line! I'm tempted to buy a used National Match model just to get one, got beat out at $200 last opportunity I had to bid on one.
  24. I always remembered that because I thought secondary was a better word for that level....stupid acronyms Can't tell you how many times that bit of brainwashing they did on me has saved the day for me and others around me, nothing dramatic, no life saving event just a bunch of "I got something for that"
  25. Brother I crushed one with a monster size wrench once, blood ran from all the openings in head. An hour later that bastard was tearing up my trunk, I guess you can't stop beating till you see brain! God damn water badgers!
