For what it's worth (yes, yes....I'm labeled as the Armalite pusher).....Armalite is running a damn good sale (you can't buy the parts individually for what they're asking) on their complete uppers right now. You can get into one for just under 600. Then, get yourself a lower (between 300 and 400 already built)......and you can customize from there. Leaves you plenty of room. Just throwin it out there.

Wilson Combat 9" rail for my 5.56 SBR build with the 7.5" Noveske barrel.

I've got a shadow ops NIB BCG I got last year (during same silliness that Tom mentioned). It's waiting to go into a BRO Fallout 10 upper/lower set that I've got.......as soon as it comes around in the build schedule. Good machining on it and everything. But can't speak for it operational-wise yet.

I use the "coppery" kind of anti-sieze that you mentioned. But a good grease would be just fine also.

I've been looking at some of their rails only because the ID is suppressor/Noveske KX3 friendly. That, and they're known for making nice stuff.

And that would be why the rest of us build these things ourselves. Also.....there's no one else to blame when one of them doesn't run properly. The pain (read aggravation) of dealing with someone that doesn't put these things together right, can be unbelievable. Plus....it could be (will be) harder to diagnose/repair without actually having your hands in it. You only pay for tools once.....but they will help you out multiple times. Just my opinion.

It's perfectly legal to have a 300 BLK upper on a 5.56 lower. After all...that's the point isn't it? It's based off of using the 5.56 casing....just with a 30 cal projectile. That's how you start with the platform. And actually, I don't think that there are any dedicated 300 BLK lowers out there (could be wrong though). Mine is a DD lower (registered as a SBR lower) with a 300 BLK upper that I built. If you're not going below the 16" barrel length mark....it doesn't make a difference what anything is marked.

^^^^ I agree. Armalite knows that they have a following with the AR-10 B model. They're not going anywhere anytime soon. Besides....with proper maintenance, they'll last a lifetime. That....and between the piles of parts I have on hand.....mine will outlast me. And either one of my kids will still be able to rebuild them if needed.

And It's made me proud when any of them have called me their brother. Not out of service....but of mindset. And I would never dishonor any of them by pretending to be something without having earned it. Period!
